this the weapon creation thread. However there is a new shield mod on page 1 or 2 of this forum 800000 shield. Easy to find

yeah, i found it but was using outdated willow tree so i thought it didnt work anymore...

I have been playing around with this for a little while but have not been able to make a good semi auto sniper. any help would be appreciated. Here is a couple I tried out but they didnt show up in the game. I pretty much just pulled stuff out of willow tree and plugged them into the spots. Not sure why its not working. If you guys have some good semi auto snipers could you post them so I could tinker with ones that work.

Also on another question, i made some machine gunner ones but was unable to get a multiplier on the damage. I used scattergun but didnt appear to matter. I could be mistaken but twisted and scattergun are the two most commonly used to up the damage.

i dont believe twisted or scattergun can cross weapons. meaning the scattergun only stays on shotguns.

Ok so I didnt really figure out the other semi snipers but here are a couple with small changes that work. I didnt really change much from the original gun in the game, I just added the shredders on the end. I think I might have changed body and mag as well. Nothing major. The second one is the same as the first just minus one shredder (less damage but a little faster fire rate).

have you tried a liquid liquid?
there is one gun on blmodding.wikidot.com
that does like 5.6 fire rate, but its dmg is like 590.
you could switch it to a liquid shredder, and it would be 590X3

also there is a 5 bullets when scoped sniper rifle...

SO AFTer reading a tad on snipers, you need to make it a dahl.
and put "penetrator" parts on it.
then probably max scope.

try one of these out, they are green-purple rarity when found in game usually, but have full automatic skills
making a shredder penetrator is a great idea.

use the best parts in combination with the dahl penetrator and you may be walking death.


i would suggest parts that add maximum clip size over dmg... unless its just insanely more dmg vs clip size.
1 bullet not great than 1 dmg increase (willow tree numbers)

Ok so I just tried a few more combination's with so semi auto snipers. Pretty much looks like what VacantFiend posted but I tried a few with different manufacturers to see what I could get. I think these are the right ones. I have trying so many combination's that it is hard to tell what is what in my stuff now. I had a few others that I have tried but I dont think they showed up in the game. Does anyone know if the .acc stuff can only be used on certain weapons. In willow tree it says I have a Deep Liquid Shredder, but its not in the game.


Ok on another note, anyone have anything on Eridan weapons. I have tried a couple of those but I cant get them to show up in the game. I don't have any Eridan weapons in the game so I am not sure if I am putting the stuff in the right slots. So any help is great, even a for sure location in the game where I can find an eridan weapon would help.

I have been playing around with this for a little while but have not been able to make a good semi auto sniper. any help would be appreciated. Here is a couple I tried out but they didnt show up in the game. I pretty much just pulled stuff out of willow tree and plugged them into the spots. Not sure why its not working. If you guys have some good semi auto snipers could you post them so I could tinker with ones that work.

Also on another question, i made some machine gunner ones but was unable to get a multiplier on the damage. I used scattergun but didnt appear to matter. I could be mistaken but twisted and scattergun are the two most commonly used to up the damage.

Ok yeah gd_weap_patrol_smg.Prefix.Prefix_Barrel3_Twisted... Does up damage a bit, but the Shredder and Matador TITLES under combat shotgun are your best best if you are just trying to raise damage, it adds a x3, x4, x5 to damage nearly ANY WEAPON....

SO AFTer reading a tad on snipers, you need to make it a dahl.
and put "penetrator" parts on it.
then probably max scope.

try one of these out, they are green-purple rarity when found in game usually, but have full automatic skills
making a shredder penetrator is a great idea.

use the best parts in combination with the dahl penetrator and you may be walking death.


i would suggest parts that add maximum clip size over dmg... unless its just insanely more dmg vs clip size.
1 bullet not great than 1 dmg increase (willow tree numbers)

This applies to people who have downloaded the Fort Knoxx DLC.

Due to the 2/23/10 update this thread and its information will not work on multiplayer. Any "invalid" (modded) weapons will not be functional or existant in the game. This is to my knowledge of the patch. I can't just test it out at the moment since I don't have borderlands anymore.

There are workarounds to this update, according to a weapons modder. READ THIS BEFORE CREATING OR USING WEAPON DATA PRIOR TO THE 2/23 UPDATE!

Is it possible for SharpGhost or a mod to update the first post with the new guidelines for modded weapons?

I'm having some minor success but I don't know what exactly the boundaries are. So far it seems:
- All parts must be for the same weapon
- All parts must from the same manufacturer (where applies)
- Only one acc allowed at a time.

That's all I got.

Oh and I forgot (since I can't edit):
- No parts can be applied more than once.

i dont understand why when i mod a weapon or a shield it doesnt show up in my backpack. can someone help me with that ???

Generally, I find this happens when a compatibility rule is overlooked. For instance, I created an incendiary butcher, but the game will not spawn and incendiary shotguns that are clip fed. There are some basic compatibility rules that have to be observed. You can use the gear calc to help get you started, but you can do things that the gear calc won't allow, you just have to invest some time in reading. Gear Calc: http://gearcalc.50webs.com note - the gear calc will give a legit vs. no legit message to let you know if a weapon you create can spawn in the game. Even if it is Not Legit, as long as the gear calc spits out a code and card result, you can spawn it in the game. And of course, make sure you are saving and existing Willow Tree and Xport 360 correctly, assuming you are using those.

Well, I'm really tired so I'm gonna go to bed, I'll post a lot more tomorrow. BTW all are tested in Borderlands, are WillowTree/WillowTree# Friendly, have passed the GearCalc tests, and are made to not be too overpowering, but definately give a boost to your weapon inventory. Although, does anyone know what's the rule with the weapon names? Cause for some weap.s all the problem is is that the name is screwing it up, then I have to use GearCalc to give my weapon a name. Is there a type of guidlines? (EX: Certain parts need certain manufacturers)

I'll give those a try. I'm on my first play through and didn't want to mod my level too high the first time around, and am just at 23. Will I be able to use those weapons or do they have level restrictions? If so, can I just change them in WillowTree to be level 23, or is it not that easy?

I've tried importing weapons from others that I've seen on this forum and they don;t show up in-game. I read that with the most recent update, weapons that are not legit just don;t show up. Is there a site for downloading a few great legit weapons? Thanks!
