Bethesda yet again feeds Playstation 3 owners the short side of the stick with downloadable content for Skyrim with unfortunate news to Skyrim's DLC fate: the PS3 version of Skyrim may never see the light of DLC. As sudden as an rapid unsheathing of a sword, Bethesda, as reported on Gaming Blend, is currently displeased by the PS3's execution of the DLC. Additionally, Bethesda claims that their are unable to permit the DLC to run by itself and that the quality of the DLC fares poorly in comparison with its Xbox 360 counterpart. With Hearthfire pleasing Bethesda fans who were fortunate enough to own Microsoft's console, there is a strong possibility that PS3 owners will never enjoy the added complexity, replayability, and perks brought forth by a DLC released in June.

Mind you this certainly not the first aura of controversy that Bethesda has seen with its games. Bethesda is widely notorious for its notable quality differences between its Xbox 360 and PS3 versions of its games alongside some DLC release date differences between those versions. What are your opinions on this? Are you considering returning your game or perhaps purchasing a Xbox 360 to simply play what was essentially "a ripped off deal," for PS3 owners of Skyrim? See, I thought the the PS3 was technically superior to the 360. I don't understand how it can't handle something when a slightly older console can.

(This is not an invitation to start a PS3 vs 360 flame war)

As discussed in the last thread about a similar topic to this, the reason why the PS3 cannot handle the DLC (and the main game a little bit) is because of the way that the PS3 distributes its RAM. Personally i don't think Bethesda should take the fall for this, Sony should.

My friends love Skyrim on the PS3, and they don't know what they are missing out on, so I don't think it is a mass disappointment.

*There are grammatical errors in this article (their instead of they're, an rapid should be a rapid).

The ps3 is fine and has the same amount of RAM, the only difference is how it's handled and the cell processor is a bit funky. The PS3 has much better hardware, it's just 180 degrees then a normal computer or an xbox. Meh either way both consoles blow turd now at six years old. can't wait for the next gen consoles.

I don't see what they're complaining about. They got the game they paid for. They haven't paid for the expansion pack. They didn't buy the game knowing about the expansion pack.

They can't run it, it's not going to change their current gaming experience.

You cannot simply "find a way around" only having 1/4 a gig of ram.

But the PS3 has it separated. XBOX has 1 512mb chip that both use. PS3 has 2 256mb chips.

How would they find a way around it without making the game the way they wanted it to be? Just a question because I have no idea how these things work.

They should have held back the release for the ps3 version long and optimize it. This guy speaks the truth.

It just never woulda been released. If it happens to this many games, why keep buying them?
