I think you're missing my point. It would be one thing to say "I'm not going to add a roof because I don't want to." It's another thing entirely to say "I'm not doing it because this map is only designed for this particular gametype." That's something you can pull off with special maps/gametypes but not something as broad as a map remake, sorry.

You're actually very very wrong about Bungie remakes having the same proportions, please go play a few and come back and tell me that again, hmm?

The reason I suggested a roof wasn't as a way to get rid of your kill barriers, it was because people who choose to play a gametype with jetpacks (or super low gravity) on your map will go above the wall and see how ugly it looks beyond. The rest of your map looks amazing, by the way.

I'm really not trying to insult you, loving the map, it was just a poor response.

While I agree with you and see that you're not a complete idiot, I'm still going to have to disagree with the fact that for the most part, remakes by Bungie are proportionate. At first glance, they may look very different, but it's a simple equation. They use variables (not literally obviously) to decide what's too big, too small, too far, etc. when recreating a map.

If you still don't understand what I'm getting at: I'm trying to describe the fact that they make it so that the jumps are the same, for example. Like on Blackout/Lockout, even though the metrics are very different, the jump from top-mid to BR3 is still the same, the jump from top0mid to S3 is still the same, the jump from top lift to top-mid is still the same. See what I'm getting at by saying they use "proportions"?

Edit: Also, I'm going to have to disagree with your statement that you can't have a custom gametype for just a "map remake". On the contrary, it should be perfectly acceptable. The intention of this map is to make you feel as if you are playing Halo 2, or something like it.

So no, it's not unacceptable to have a map remake only be compatible with my gametype.

Hey you are adding the cliffs on the sides right? If so are you going with the ladder version or walkway?

Dude, +rep for work that was amazing. Keep it up, cannot wait to see 100%!

    EDIT:
    And disregard the haters.

One more thing, will you be able to transfer this over to retail for download for retail users? (when the game is released)

This is actually exactly what I was trying to say; the maps are made to play the same, not to BE the same. A straight port of a halo 2 map would be way too tiny in halo 3 or Reach, so it needs to be different in order to keep the pacing right.

Anyway none of this is relevant, if I prefer a roof I can add one myself. I was really just trying to make a suggestion and not start an argument. Glad to hear you're done, can't wait to play it. Looks great.

On a more light spirited note:
Good luck adding a roof, I'm out of just about all resources ^_^
