Australia gets Xbox 360 price cuts

Australian price cuts place all Xbox 360 consoles lower than the PS3, and the Arcade costs less than the Wii

Not long after we saw a leaky K-Mart ad that could reveal some price cuts here stateside, Microsoft slashed prices in the Land down under earlier today. The Xbox 360 Arcarde gets an AU$50 price cut, going from AU$399 to AU$349, putting it as the lowest-priced next generation console in Australia (the Wii is AU$399). The Pro price is dropped from AU$579 to AU$499, and last but not least, the Elite falls from $AU729 to AU$649. These price cuts are also notable in the fact that now every Xbox 360 SKU is lower-priced than the PlayStation 3. Microsoft's Australia team refuses to comment on any other price cuts in other regions, but rest assured, we will be seeing some soon.

They just made them official, I think I read that the cuts here are coming July 6.

thats all fine and dandy But whats the conversion of the American dollar to the AU (dollar?) Seeing that everything for them is 100 more than in America.

Actually, America alretady got price cuts, long before Australia :l sorry. But Australia got Halo 3 first , which is probably better.

yea we got halo same day 2 although we got it about 17 hours earlier coz of time zone

Usually USA and Canada get the same stuff. Same day. Everything. So hopefully when the price cut is done in the US. Maybe us Canucks can get it to.
