Japanese gamers can now buy Microsoft Points via cell phone
NTT DoCoMo users can use their phones to buy Microsoft Points

While the Xbox 360 may have limited success at the moment in Japan, Microsoft still believes that their weakest market can be the home to a new technology. Starting Monday, NTT DoCoMo subscribers can now purchase and pay for Microsoft Points from their cell phone. This process requires no credit card, as it uses the "DoCoMo mobile payment service", which charges the purchase to the cell phone bill. Though some may see this as a niche technology, it is quite useful for those who don't have a credit card or don't want to put a credit card on their Xbox Live account. At the moment, there is no word that this is coming stateside, but most can expect that it will sometime in the future.
