Call of Duty 7 already under development, and yes, it's from Treyarch

It's aliiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiive!

This doesn't really come as a surprise, but if any of you guys had doubts, time to put a stake through its heart. Call of Duty 7 (which is rumored to be set in Vietnam) is already under development, and yes, it's indeed coming from Treyarch. Call of Duty: World at War senior animator David Kim reveals the following in his LinkedIn profile:

I am currently on my second title as a senior animator in the games industry with Activision / Treyarch on Call Of Duty 7. Previous to that I specialized as a previsualization artist for various productions.

Of course, his use of "Call of Duty 7" here would be a temporary placeholder name for whatever game they're cooking. Quite possibly, CoD7 could drop the whole CoD branding, just like how Infinity Ward took it out of Modern Warfare 2.

As I said, Treyarch doing CoD7 is something we expected. Last year, Activision's CEO said they were going for a "leapfrog strategy" of alternating between Treyarch and Infinity Ward for their CoD franchise. To spell it out for you, here's how it's been going down, starting from CoD4:

Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare - Infinity Ward
Call of Duty: World at War - Treyarch
Modern Warfare 2 - Infinity Ward
Call of Duty 7 - Treyarch

Yeah Treyarch fails big time IMO. Although WaW wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be. Once I started getting used to it

I think treyarch has milked the old wars for long enough. It would be nice to see something that hasn't been done a million times.

Really? Shellshock wasnt a nam game? Or any of the other 12 vietnam games either? Wow I didn't know that...Treyarch have done two games. Both of which we're a waste of a Verbatim to me.

Treyarch did a great job on WaW. But how many CoDs are they going to make? I've never seen a game that has gone up to 7.

CoD2: Infinity Ward - Great Game
CoD3: Treyarch - Mediocre Game
CoD4: Infinity Ward - Great Game
CoD5: Treyarch - A little better than a mediocre game, simply because of Nazi Zombies

Infinity Ward >>>>> Treyarch any day.

I did not and will not buy CoD5, I will buy MW2, I will not buy CoD7.

The only reason why I entertain WaW being a decent game is due to Nazi Zombies; which was also the reason I bought the new map pack lol And I'll prolly buy the newer one since it will have another zombies map. lol It's just fun to play whether it's by yourself or a group of friends.

I aqm sorry to destroy your hopes but... It's gunna be c**ppy rip off of cod mw2 but with a few lame extras and based in another time.

Yeah wtf is that. 5+ months until the next CoD comes out, but yet there already developing ANOTHER one? FFS give MW2 at LEAST a year and a half to have the spotlight, because if it's anything like CoD4 it's going to **** on WaW as well as "CoD7". I personally don't even think that they should make another CoD, they should just stop after MW2.

Erm, they're being developed at the same time... It's not possible to rip off a game being developed at the same time as yours.

MW2 was in development before WaW was even released.
