Fall Update Game Install Feature Caught on Video
New feature shown off by person who installed leaked update

We all know by now that the fall dashboard update has been leaked to the 'net, but because it requires a new kernel it has been not been able to be installed on any current consumer console. At least until now, because an unknown person managed to get the update up and running, and has taken a video of the hard drive install feature for games to speed up the loading process. The video was demoed using GTA IV, and it's not quick. The feature also allows to play games directly from the drive. Watch the video below to check it out.

no Jmary, you have to have the disc in the tray in order to prevent piracy... its kinda stupid

Only real use is for GTA4 to prevent popup in the graphics

no. you will need to have the game disk in the game tray in order for it to load.

That's cool. I think someone is going to comeout with a disc you can buy and put it in your xbox so it will load the games on the hard drive.

Maybe someone will come up with a mod that make it not check for the disc in the tray

I think it looks slick, I like it. Hopefully it's quicker in speed than the current dash.

The biggest thing I'm waiting for is the multi person chatting. Me and 3 of my real friends are sick of having to switch from chat room to chat room to talk to each other and we can finally be in one room. Also it does seem to run much smoother than the blades do.
