need help, my friend can't get into any rooms i host...!?!?

one of my clan guys has a son who is in as well... they both ride on the same connection, one upstairs in their house, one downstairs... 'chickenjeff' cannot get into any of rooms that i host, ranked or player...!?!? i have him as a friend, also a preferred player... why won't this work...? he has no problems with getting in with his dad for other rooms, and doesn't have any problems with other games either... just my rooms i host on r6v... what gives, and anybody know how to fix this...?

Can he hear you? Most of the time people have the NAT Filtering setting on the router set to secured and can't hear other people nor join any rooms they host. They need to go access there router page and change it to open. It doesn't remove your security or mess up anything.

Also tell him to do this: Go to his dashboard then go to the last tab (system) then go to Memory then press Y on your controller then you should see the options Format or Rename. Don't do either of those you want to do this sequence on your controller: X - X - LB - RB - X -X. It will then it will say "Do you want to perform system maintance?" select yes. After it does that quick maintance go back to your dashboard and select rainbow six vegas. It will then ask you to update your system, do so and your done.

What that does is it deletes the updates that you downloaded (because some can be corrupt and make you not hear people or join there rooms) and makes you re-download them. It doesn't mess up anything and this is what Microsoft told me to do.

AND... you're right, i have never been able to hear him and vice versa even when we've been in someone else's room...

i'd bet a million its the NAT... i'll have him call xbox live to get the port codes or whatever, and have him do the maintenance too...

i'll keep you posted, but i should know if it works by tonight...
