This is a walkthrough of each Terrorist Hunt in Rainbow Six: Vegas.
Please keep in mind that Terrorist Hunts will vary in many ways and won’t always happen the same way, how many terrorist are where will always be random. I have also wrote these walkthroughs based on how I personal move through the maps and how they work for me, but the possibilities are endless to how you can navigate through them with success.
All of these are focused to making it as easy for the average person to complete each of the Terrorist Hunts as easily as possible. This is the reason I suggest the use of a Shield, however, a Shield does not have to be use and I encourage you challenge yourself to try them without one. Any number references other then the ‘magic’ number 8 are based on enemies set to ‘Low’
Here are some over all tips, I have noticed, and found on here, etc.
1.) Use a Shield. Shields make it easier to protect yourself.
2.) Close Doors. Close doors behind you, it is less likely you will be flanked but you will also be able to hear the doors open behind you if they do try to sneak up on you.
3.) Break Glass. Go ahead; shoot out some glass to trigger them towards you.
4.) Use Walls and Corners. When you can, keep you back near walls, or in a corner.
5.) Side Rooms/Offices/Hallways. Don't run up in big open rooms/areas. Clear little rooms, one by one, you’re less likely to flanked and/or overcome by too many at one time.
6.) The 'Magic' Number. Watch the number of how many terrorists you have left, when you get to 11, start looking at your map and trying to find a good corner/room to back into, when the number hits 8 they will rush you, and if you are not in a good spot it will make it difficult to defend yourself.
7.) Hold Doors Closed. If a door opens toward you, you can put your back/side up against it and hold it closed, this works great for making open entry rooms. Not letting terrorist through a door will force them to find another route to get you or have to wait until you are able to focus on them.
8.) Corners/Doors. Make them run around a corner, or through a door to get to you, you are given a much bigger window to hit them, and most the time they will come in a more one at a time fashion.
How to get a shield.
A lot of people don’t have a shield because they never picked one up in the game or didn’t even realize you could get one. If you choose to use a shield to help you through these and you do not have a ‘shields’ section when you select which weapons you would like to use then you will have to get one, this is how you get one.
Play the story mode through the map ‘The Strip’ when you meet up with Michael and Jugs you should be able to pick it near by. Pick it up for one of your weapons and finish the level. If you do not have a good pistol, ranging bull or desert eagle, try to find one and pick it up as well. After that just choose the Shield as one of your main weapons on your equipment list.
BorderTown
From where you start out head straight slowly until and keep an eye down the street to your left, down that road there will be a few that run towards you. After you are done with them, don't go down the road they came from, go to your right and stay close to the wall to your right. The next road might or might not have one or two down it; if you see any kill them. Then head through the door just past that street, there should be a few terrorists in there. When you go through the door watch the room to the right, there might be one in there.
Now you can head down the stairs. Most the time there are three by these stairs; one coming up the stairs, one in the room to the right, and one straight down the hall taking cover on the corner.
There is a room at the bottom of those stairs that has a ladder to the roof of this building, I normally go up there and check for one but 9 out of 10 times I don’t find anyone up there.
After that go down the hallway the stairs brought you into. Down the stairs and there are two rooms, most the time you can get through the two rooms and up the stairs to the right with little resistance but watch for flankers.
After you get up the stairs and go out the door and take a left, there it a L shaped alleyway to the right. Go do that alley and when you come to the corner of the L shoot the window of the church you can see out. The guys in the church should come to the window to see what’s going on; kill them.
Once they are dead and you get to the end of the alley take a right, and go up a rappel rope on the church. Once on the roof go down inside the church and secure the main room. Before going into the basement of the church shoot a few shoots out the frost door of the church, then go secure the basement. On the way out of the basement you should have some guys on the stairs or in the church which should drop you to 8 and you can back door the basement stairs and finish off the round.
Calypso Casino
You start out on the helicopter landing pad, moving towards the stairs try to place yourself in a good spot to pick off some bad guys. Here some people like to shoot and then let them come to you and hit them running up the stairs, but I prefer to just cap them as soon as I have a visual. Once the stairs are safe to go down and you can no longer see or hear anyone go ahead and make you way down the stairs and through the door straight ahead. Get ready because one guy always run right up to you, then there might or might not be another down the hall. Take care of them and get all the way down the hall to the door into the casino. Watch this door closely; sometimes they will open it before you have a chance to. Open the door and secure the room, closing the door behind you. Open up the double doors to the right and sneak out a little looking to the left. Either shoot them right away or drop back into the room and wait for them to come to you.
Without going any farther close the double doors and go back from up the stairs you came down from. Once you get back on to the roof of the casino take a left and into the building the two elevators with fast ropes are in. I prefer to go along side the outside of it and enter through the back so that I can secure each room as a move through it. Otherwise the enemies will see you through the carwash-like flaps even though you don't see them, but that’s what shields were made for.
After you move through the top three rooms, head down the staircase and through the door. Now you are in a hall right off the casino again. Make sure the casino is still secure and head towards the cashiers booth to the back staircase heading to the basement. Once at the bottom of those stairs close the door after you go through it. Secure the room you’re by making sure no one is in the space to the right that you can't see from the door; then secure the next room.
Now the next part uses the 'holding the door shut' tip I gave earlier and once you get close to 8 enemies remaining you need to stay close to the door on those back stairs so you can hold it shut.
In the two rooms you just secured the second room has two doors, I suggest opening the one to the right first; kill anyone down that hallway. It might help to shot at the glass at the end of that hall to maybe draw some more to you. Then open the door to the left and run back to the door you need to hold closed. You should be able to drop to 8 and finish off the round in that room. Listen to the door you are holding shut, if you move a inch away from it and hear it clicking open and close there is a guy trying to get through and can take care of him when you get a chance.
Casino Vault
There are two ways of doing this level; the way I recommend, and the Rambo style. You can decide which one you want to try, if not both.
First head straight out the left side of where you start and secure the hall to the right where there should be a guy or two. Head down that hall making sure you glance down the halls you past. If the door to the vault is closed you should be ok to go this way, if it is open, you’re in for a gun fight and you might want to switch to the Rambo style as your numbers will drop fast and you want to be in a spot to handle a rush.
For those of you with the vault door closed, which should be most of you, head down that hallway to where it comes to a T. There is a staircase to you left and the security room double doors to your right. Take a right to the double doors being cautious, I have had them open the doors for me before. Once you get to the double doors open the left one and get your back to the wall facing the staircase and right tight up against the wall to the right. Most of them will come from the security room doors but there will also be a few that will come down the stairs straight ahead and take cover on the door frame, right side. I find at this point its helps to flick the thermo on so you can hit them quickly. Make sure you wait a while before moving on, there seems to always be a wave of guys that take their time getting to you.
After you feel everyone is done coming to you, head into the security room. Go straight to the other side of the room and take and right heading towards the double doors. Be careful like always there may be guys waiting on the other side. Closing the double doors behind you take out the guys that will come out of the offices on the right side of the hallway, if you flick the map on you will be able to see a spot that is a end of a hallway straight ahead where you can sit and shoot anyone coming through any doorway. Try to get there, watching to your right. You should be able to get the number to drop to 8, shooting down the first hallway to the left when you are in that spot helps to get a few people to come, but if you are impatient you can take the first hallway to the left, take another left and there is a corner for you to sit in.
Now lets do it Rambo style.
From where you start, head out the right most flapped door, quickly shooting anyone you see. After everyone is dead, shoot down the hall and wait for a little to make sure everyone in that hallway is clear. You can also go clear it, but that’s a lot of work for a Rambo style player.
Now watch for flanking, they will sometime come and try to go around out the other door of the vault and come down the hallway to your right or even behind you sometimes. The best way to stop this is make sure you shoot into the vault a lot right when you open the door.
Talking about opening the door, open the door, there will be guys up top; they will run down the curved stairs. There will also be guys in the vault on the floor which will sometimes take cover in the vault so make sure you secure the vault well.
After you secure the vault, go inside. To your right there will be the door you want to head through. Close that door behind you. Now you’re in a small room with another door straight ahead. Go through that door and close it behind you and open the first door on the left and back up to your left and aim at the soda machine. Guys will normally run out that door so once they stop coming close the door back up and head down the hall, watch the first hall to the left and hit anyone down that hall. Keep heading to the end of the hall where you should find a few guys in the last hall to your left. If you drop to 8 while killing them, stay backed up into the corner there. If you don't, head through that hall, take a left, then a left, a right, another right, and one last right. Now you are in a dead end where you can defined yourself well. Going through all those turns there should have been a guy to kill to drop you to 8 but if you are still not there shoot at the double doors straight ahead. That is the security room and there should be guys in there to help drop you to 8.
Dam
From where you star turn and take the door on your left. Take a left out that door and head down the stairs; be ready for one or two guys on the stairs. When you get to the bottom of the staircase turn right so you back is to the wall. You will see a door down the hall to the right that may or may not open when you get to the bottom of the stairs with one or two guys coming from it. If it doesn’t open go open it an glance inside to make sure there is no one in there.
Now off to your left there is a little hall with another red door. Open the door and back up into the corner where you can shoot anyone coming through the door. Once you feel the room is clear proceed in. Take a sharp left and there is a little cubby hole to back into. From here you should be able to see the window in front of you out to the main room as well as a wall covering part of it to the right. You will hear a door open but before they can see you shoot out a window or two. This will cause more people to come to the noise. Shoot everyone, most the time the number will drop to somewhere around 18, wait a bit then head through the door to your left. No one should be in this room but there is a door on the far right wall. Go a head and open it if it is not already open and back up to the wall. This is one of the parts you need to use your best judgment, if no one comes for a while, pop out of the door and shoot high and low to the left. Backing back into the room to wait, at this part you MUST not leave until you are down to at least 16, 15 is preferred, and 14 is very good. They take their time getting to you but if you have not shot at least one guy in light blue camo, you need to stay there until he gets to you.
After the number is low enough and you feel that last guy wont flank you on the next part go out the door with a sharp left, then go straight and there will be another red door to the left. Head through that door and out the other door in that room. Go down the hall and take the first door on the wall to your left closing it behind you. This is the part you will be flanked if you didn't wait long enough and drop to about 15 in the other section. Shoot the wall in front of you down the hall. There are normally one or two guys that will come to you. Once you kill them go to the end and take the door on the left. Open it and back into the corner. There should be one or two guys in this room. Clear that room and head in and to the next door. There is a radio playing in this next room and most the time a guy or two in there. Secure the room and go to the next door straight ahead not heading back into the hallway. Secure the third and last room, now if you are luck your count is at 8 and you can finish the round off in this room. If not, which is more likely then not, head through the door back into the hall. Straight ahead there is a door on the far left wall. This door leads to the great outdoors. Open it up and kill anyone you see. If you still are unable to finish the round head down the stairs.
When you get to the bottom of the staircase there is a window to the right; break it and climb in that room through it. Open the door on the right wall and make sure that hallway is secure. Once it is go to the room right across the hall, there is normally a guy or two in there that should drop you number to 8, and everyone will then come rushing to you. It sometimes take a second or two for them to get to you, but just stay in the room, they will come!
If you still don't drop to 8, go to the room next to the one you are in, all three of the rooms on this wall are one entrance rooms, other then the windows, and are easier to finish a round off in.
Dantes
From where you start go through the door straight ahead and up the small stairs. As you come to the wooden down to your left shot it a few times and crotch and cover on the right side of the door. Center you aim in the middle of the door and hold the right trigger. When the near by terrorist opens the door you will blind fire him and con now clear the hallway you can see down. Quickly clear it so that terrorists don’t take cover in any of the side doors.
When you go through the door you must secure the hallway to the right, I normally drop a smoke in the door before swinging out the secure the right side. After clearing that side, take cover on the small wall and take out any terrorists in the middle of it. Of the far side of there is also a section with a moving truck and van in it, make sure to check this section also. Make sure you secure the entire room before moving on.
Once secured, head to the next room, there are two entries to this room, a double door and a single door. Take and open the single door, you will see a corner and a board that comes about waist high straight ahead. Toss a smoke right at that board; once it goes off move quickly into the smoke and take out anyone standing in that room.
Take a second to look around this room. From the door you came in there is a tall box straight ahead, near the corner. This is what I like to call the box of safety, when I refer to 'the box' this is the one I am talking about.
Now there are two doors in the back of this room. If guys did not run into the room through them, they should both be closed. If so, go ahead and head over to the one on the right side, open it up and shoot into the room, turn around quickly and shoot at the other door, and run to and take cover behind the box. Guys will come a few at a time into the room so take them out as they come. The number should quickly reach 8 and you will be able to finish the round behind this box.
If you have trouble getting guys to come in to the room, shoot a few times out into the room from behind the box, they should come.
Another tip is from the box try not to let any run out the double doors, they will run around to flank you. Also don’t let any cross the screen to take cover behind the board to the left, they are hard to kill behind there and hard to hit when they decide to make a dash for that board.
Kill House
When you start out head up the staircase to the roof, two guys are up there, one should use the rappel and the other will choose to shoot you. Don't worry about the guy on the rappel just shoot the guy shooting you. As quickly as you can, take a left and open the door to the stairs that goes down into the building. When you get to the middle floor take a right and head down the hallway. You may have to kill another guy in this hallway somewhere but it shouldn't make you miss a step. Go in the second door on your left, this is a one entry room so back up in a corner and wait. Everyone from this point on will come to you.
The Library
In The Library you start outside, run all the way down the side of the building. Round the corner you will see two rappels heading to the roof; take the closest one to the corner all the way up. Once you are to the top take a sharp right all the way to the other corner and wait. Guys will climb up the ropes making it easy to pick off one by one. Be Patient, it may take them a little time to get out of the building and up the rappel ropes. What I like to do is use the rappel to my left to look around and shoot the ground of the balcony below me. Most the time you will see the door open and a few run will out and start climbing. Once you wait a little bit and feel no more are coming go ahead and climb down the rappel closest to you. Secure the balcony. Sometimes there will be a guy on it that doesn't come up. Once secured head in the door and take a left through the double door, go past the mens bathroom, take another left and then a right into a room just off a larger library room, there will be two guys hanging out somewhere close by that will come to kill you, kill them. When entering the room be careful. Sometimes one will be standing there but faced away from you.
Once you’re back up in the corner, shoot out the glass windows. If no one comes you’re safe to go on the next step. There is a hallway straight ahead, run down it until you have a hallway to the right of you. Guys should start shooting at you. I like to get a shot down the hall to my right when I come to it to draw more attention. Once they know your there back all the way up in to the room you just ran out of. Sometime they come through/stay in the room to your right, so watch for that. The next step is going through that room to the single doors on the other side. Go through that door and close it behind you, take a right and turn around so your back is to that wall.
Now you will have the door you just closed close to your left, a hallway to your left just past the door, and a lighter doorway with a hallway to the left. First shoot in to the lighter room, sometimes guys come. Then try to fish them to you by going in to the doorway to the light section turned to your left and shoot down the hall and down stairs. Then head back up by the door again and wait for any that may come. Once you feel no more are coming then turn left down the first hallway. Here you will go past a big open spot where you can see down into the library, when you go past shoot down into the first floor to get the attention of the guys down there. Keep going straight and at the end take a right in to a door where you can then turn around and kill everyone that will come through that door.
Once you feel safe that there are no more coming make your way out that door to the left and down the stairs in front of you in the light area. At the bottom of those stairs take a right. There may still be a few guys down here, but once it is secure head to the bathroom door straight ahead which you should find a guy or too inside. Use the bathroom if you drop to 8 and need a good one entrance room to kill people coming through the door.
If you’re still not at 8 or below take a left out of the bathroom to the closet across the hall to your right. There should be one or two guys in there which should be able to get you to 8 and allow you to use this room to finish off the round.
LVU Campus
Head up the stairs, crotch and shield up around the first wall, shoot anyone you see. Watch down the hallway for anyone down there, and to the right where there are double doors and a door on either side of the double doors. I normally back into a spot just left of the L shaped desk and watch the doors, if no one comes for a bit, run up and open the right door, they should start coming. That should be enough to drop to 8 and then they will all just rush in.
As easy as that! If you have trouble dropping down to 8 in this spot, try opening the double doors and shooting outside, or open the left door and back up. You should be able to get them all by that L shaped desk.
Research Labs
First things first, from where you start head through the double doors to your left, take a left and then a right and go down the stairs and through the door at the bottom. Now you will be on a platform, fast rope off it using the fast rope farther to your left. Once you hit ground put up your shield and hit anyone you see down the long way of the room, watch you left sense there is sometimes a guy that will hide behind the stack of tires to your left. Once you see/hear no one else shoot a few times to make sure no one else will come to you.
Turn to your left and head down the hall there, in this hall there are a lot of turns and normally 3 guys that shoot fast so I always keep my shield up through here. Get to the part with red lighting and you should be clear of guys for awhile. This is where you get to just run for a little until you reach the next spot where you will be flanked.
Run straight through the red lighted hall on the left side of all the poles, and through the doorway at the end and take a right, then a left going past the moving truck and take a right and follow the wall down until you come to a red door on your left. Go through that door and shut it behind you. Go quickly through the next doorway and check to the right for a guy, if there is one there kill him fast as you will soon be flanked from the door you just closed so turn around and move in the room with the door and to the right corner. Once the door opens kill anyone that wants to come in, and wait a while for more people. Sometimes here I get two people and sometimes five, it all depends. Once you feel there are no more coming turn around and take the back hallway down to the end an out the door on the far side of it. Once out this door there will be a staircase just to your right on the far wall, run up it and open one of the doors of the double doors to the left side and back up. You should get one or two guys that will run through it. Now make your way inside and watch to your left, a guy or two might come through the door or shoot through the windows on that side of the room, kill him then exit the room the same way you entered it.
Go back down the stairs and through the door straight ahead at the bottom and through the door to the left. Now in this room there is a double door straight ahead and a staircase hidden by a wall. Go ahead and open on of the double doors and back into the far left corner of this room. Guys should run through the open door as well as a couple running down the stairs.
Once everything seems safe enter the room, sometimes there is a guy that takes cover in the room so watch for him. Then head to the right and watch to your left. There is a door there that guys will come through. After killing all of them head through the door. This room is joined with another one both containing lockers and showers, through the second room there is a door to a hallway that guys like to meet you at so be careful. When I hit this spot on my last try through this map I got out into the hall way and backed to the right where there is a dead end and was able to drop to 8 and finish off the round, so wait there for a little bit, you might get lucky.
If you are not able to finish the round off there, head in the room through the first door on your right. Once you secure that room head up the stairs inside that room and secure the top room. Make sure you watch your number it will drop fast and you will be able to hit 8 soon. Once you do find a good corner and finish the last 8 off. At this point I like to shoot out the right most window of the top room and walk through it up the rappel just the your right. Up on top of that rappel the only way the last 8 can get to you is by climbing the rappels, making it easy to take them all out one by one.
Streets
When you start take a look at the box right in front of you, behind said box is a dead end that we will use to avoid flanking, but first we must turn around and head up the stairs to the right, just enough to shoot a few shots and run back to the box. Once at the box watch for guys coming down the stairs we just came from, but also watch for guys coming down the ladder leading into the building.
This will drop you to 11 or 9, always does I think I have only seen once where I got them ALL to come to that spot, but it wasn't on realistic. After you are sure there are no more coming head up the ladder they had been coming down, and to the corner of the room where you can see the front door and up the stairs. Shoot up the stairs and everyone up there will run down the stairs, don't let them get down without a bullet in the head.
Sometimes to get them to run down you have to run up half way and shoot a few shots, then back down the stairs to that corner. At this point you should be able to drop to 8 or below and they will all come running through the front door. A few times that I have done this level, it took a while for the last guy to get there. So be patient.
