How to do the Elite Rank Glitch in Rainbow Six Vegas

Learn how to unlock all Camouflage's, Armor types, and even wear the Elite Symbol in Rainbow Six Vegas, Not to mention the achievement boost from it!

This guide is a Very in-depth description on how to achieve the rank of Elite in Rainbow Six: Vegas in little time. This guide does NOT have any accounts in it, to get a account in varying Ranks go here:

Before requesting an account, Read the rules on it:
Rules for Requesting/Trading Accounts

What Rank do I want?: There are three main ranks that are desired for glitching; Sergeant Major, Colonel, and Elite

-Sergeant Major: This is the rank just below 2nd Lieutenant, ranking up from a Sergeant Major to a 2nd Lieutenant unlocks the "Officer" achievement.

-Colonel: This is the famous rank right before Elite, ranking up from a Colonel to an Elite will unlock the "Best of the Best achievement.

-Elite: Glitching straight to Elite is for those equipment junkies. At this stage, you are able to use any weapon and have access to all armor permutations including the famous "Custom Camo". Yes, you will be able to design your very own Camo Theme.

What you Need:
The Elite GT (Or whichever rank you would like) - We will call it the "Glitched Account"
Your GT

How to do the Elite Rank Glitch:

(The pictures say Colonel, the most popular Glitched Rank, but it will also work for any other rank. Also, where it says "Colonel", you use the "Glitched Account")

Before you even begin, make sure you have the "Glitched Account" on your Xbox. Obtain it by either using 'Account Recovery' or a Transfer Kit. Now follow the steps listed in the pictures.

Get to the Xbox Live Menu and go to Custom Match.

Look for any game with a low PING, this will give you more time to do the glitch later on.

Once you find a good match, click on it. As the game loads, it will first say connecting to host. After that it will say "[Name of the Map] is loading" At this point, click the Guide button on your controller and press "x" to sign out of the "Glitched Account". Immediately after the "Glitched Account" signs out, sign IN with YOUR gamertag.

(Basically, sign out of the "Glitched Account" and sign into your account while the map is loading.)

The game will NOT load, it will kick you back to the Main Lobby area. A Message will appear saying you signed into a different profile.

Click "OK" and go back into the Xbox Live Menu. If you did the glitch correctly, you will see your new desired rank. If you are still the same rank, try again. You may have either signed out too early or too late.

Once you see the desired rank, join any game, ANY game. Play the entire match, anything that will give you points. This will make the new rank permanent.
now go to the multiplayer lobby with the glitched account, and join any game, any game at all. you must play at least ONE game that gives you points to marry the elite account to your account permanently.

Note: You will being wearing the same armor and using the same weapons as the "Glitched Account"

That's it, enjoy your new rank.

If you are having trouble finding a quick match to play after doing the glitch use these settings to create a game. I promise you, someone will ALWAYS join.
Create a Match:
-Survival
-Streets
-6 player max
Very simple, but always works.

YOU DO NOT NEED TO HAVE THE ACCOUNTS HAVE XBL, THIS IS HOW TO DO IT IN CASE YOU DO NOT HAVE A 48 HOUR CARD.

You don't have to launch splintscreen, go on MULTIPLAYER than on LOCAL NETWORK

Than HOST a game session

Than when in lobby, QUIT (Quit the game, Accept)

Than DISCONNECT SOURCE, CONNECT DESTINATION

Go to to P.E.C. and the grade should remains the same...if it doesn't work you were to slow (due it was probably the FIRST connection of one of the two profile) just retry

yeah i used the one to get to colonel then i played a couple games and i got to elite but i didnt get the achievement... any idea why?

Maybe becuase you never got the achievements for the precious ones.

you have to have the achievements to get the higher ranked ones, otherwise it will freak out and wont give you the elite achievement.

Quick question regarding achievements, although I will be trying this regardless of the answer, if I already have the private 2nd class achievement (the only rank one before Elite) will I get the elite achivement by doing this?
