Fix for the Special Operations achievement

Not sure if this has been posted here before, I did a quick search and it looks like some people mentioned it in passing, but didn't fully explain it.

Anyway, I have completed this myself, and have helped 6 other people complete this without fail.

The first thing you want to do, is to delete the red/black packs if you haven't already done so, then go to system memory and clear your cash.

Now you want to redownload both the red and black packs.

Then you want to play all 57 adversarial games; here is a checklist.

LVU Campus - Attack / Defend
LVU Campus - Suvival
LVU Campus - Team Survival
LVU Campus - Sharpshooter
LVU Campus - Team Sharpshooter
LVU Campus - Retrieval

Streets - Suvival
Streets - Team Survival
Streets - Sharpshooter
Streets - Team Sharpshooter
Streets - Retrieval

Casino Vault - Suvival
Casino Vault - Team Survival
Casino Vault - Sharpshooter
Casino Vault - Team Sharpshooter
Casino Vault - Retrieval

Calypso Casino - Attack / Defend
Calypso Casino - Suvival
Calypso Casino - Team Survival
Calypso Casino - Sharpshooter

Now I have always done them in this order, so I can only guarantee the achievement if you follow this order.

Now when you are all done, delete the red and black map packs.

Finally, go play an Attack & Defend game on Calypso Casino, win or lose, the achievement is yours.

Some helpful hints to make it go by faster:
Do it it with a buddy or two, turn respawns off. You can suicide out of most missions, doesn't matter who, you will both still get the achievement.
For sharpshooter and team sharpshooter, you will have to wait for the timer to run, set the time limit to 3 minutes.

Takes about 2.5 hours straight through.

Its hard if you are trying to get it, if you just play then you will end up getting it eventually.

For some maybe, but for the vast majority of people, the achievement is glitched if you download the red/black packs; even completing all the new maps will not unlock the achievement for everyone. If you really want the achievement and have tried in the past, this is a sure fire way to get it.

My friend didn't get it although he played those 57 games twice. I got it it half through one of the runs while helping him, although I can guarantee I haven't played some of the games that were missing. It's an extremely bugged and annoying achievement...

Yeh I think I'll give it a miss too. Besides, none of my friends really play Vegas much anymore and if they did they wouldnt be bovered to try and get it.

Well, I just did exactly what was told, and It didn't unlock for me... I did notice though that when we went into Team Survival mode on all the maps, that in the lobby it would show we were playing a Team Sharpshooter match!!! I don't know what to do now...!

First, you have to follow the instructions to a "T", you must clear the cache as instructed, many people do not this, and it doesn't work, but when they go back and clear the cache and do as instructed, it works.

Also, one more thing, and this is my fault because I forgot to put this; all the matches must be in the same game type, ie all player, or all ranked, but I found player to be a lot easier.

Hey when you say cache are you just refering to the game saves, cause thats all I see that pertains to the game in memory section of the dashboard

go to system memory, highlight your HD, press xx rb lb xx, then it will ask if you want to perform system maintenance, select yes, this is clearing your system cache.

Also, two people now hae told me they have experienced the host/game glitch that affects survival and team survivavl modes(the same one that affects the achievements, until of registering as survival types the game registers as sharpshooter). The only thing I can suggest for that is to switch hosts for the person experiencing the issue.

Hey this info is not quite correct but it drove me to find out how either way.

Here is how you do it

Info care of Team Xbox

Hexus has discovered a new way to clear the Xbox 360 hard drive cache. Previously, you needed to reset your Xbox 360, and hold down the A button as a game was booting up. This new code allows you to clear the entire hard drive cache:

Go to the system blade and then select memory.
Press Y on the HD symbol and then press X,X,Left Bumper, Right Bumper, X,X. Once you do this a messsage will appear saying: Do you want to perform maintenance on your Xbox 360 storage devices?

Well beef I did everything nada, but did you download the update when you put the game back in, after clearing the cache and you start the game it says there is an update for this game did you update or not

You have to update your system or else you can't get on live...You need live to get this achievement...Don't worry your not alone in not getting this achievement...I have tried also 11 times many different ways, but will be trying this way again...Maybe try playing more than one A&D on Calypso...Or maybe try playing all modes on Calypso...It might be just a few games to unlock... IDK...!

Mine was glitched and gave it to me with 18 more matches to go out of the 57. Lucky me!

That's 2 people out of about 20 so far that have confirmed that it works, not sure what's going on with you guys; but here's what i'm going to do. I'm 99% sure I have a 48 hour code lying around somewhere, and am almost positive I can glitch the special ops achievement over to it.

If it works the way I think it should, I will post up here, all you have to do is PM me for the information, but please be quick, as others way need/want it.

I mean I did 39 and was done. Instead of doing the full 57. I removed the two map packs before I started that achievement so I wouldn't have any problems.

Well, that's incredible, because the way it has been going is peeps who d/l the new maps had this achievement glitched from being unlocked...somehow the new d/l maps made it to where, it seemed you had to do the new maps as well, to unlock it... I tried 3 times this way and 8 times with the original maps using a checklist... I got a "book" of checklists from this thing...It's unreal, the amount of time and disappointment i have gone through since January of 2007 trying to get this thing...

I am glad for all of you that got it, now pray for me that I get it, or I will use the disc as a microwavable plate for my lil pizza rolls...! lol...

As I posted before, I got the achievement before finishing all maps as well. And I never got the Red/Black packs.
