This is in fact REAL. 3.50 downgrader released - PSP Fanboy

NOTE:You need an unpatched version of Lumines to do this.

I dont think there is any patched versions yet. The only reason they gave the serial numbers of the games in earlier articles was to distinguish US copies from EU copies and weed out JP copies. But now JP versions of the game are supported to.

EDIT:
Correction JP version of the game have been patched to require 3.51. I know US hasn't been patched yet and I'm not sure about EU.
