I want to be able to play games off of a memory stick. Do I need a custom firmware or what?

I have successfully downgraded my psp to 1.5, now what do I do? I want to be able to play games off of a memory stick. Do I need a custom firmware or what?

Yes you will need a custom firmware. I recommend going to 3.52M33. Then you can get to 3.80M33 if you want play all the latest games.

So did I even have to downgrade to 1.5? Is it difficult to upgrade to these custom firmwares? What are the benefits of them?

the answer to this is huge but ill try say it short....

you need to downgrade to 1.5 as far as i know.

its easy as pie to upgrade...go on youtube and type 3.52 M33 install it will give you a guide and where to download it. Then if i were you id upgrade to 3.90 M33.

If you want custom themes do some searching for 'custom xmb themes'

Benefits are:

Themes
Games from Memory stick
homebrew apps
and more

Its more stable then 3.90M33 also can run all the latest games for now I believe. But I still use 3.90M33-2
