There are tons of things you can do. It just depends on how much money you would like to spend and how much skill you have. You can wired up some LED's on the front of your system, install a window, paint it, ECT... If you're just looking to make it pretty, then maybe do a custom paint job on it. I wouldn't suggest doing it on the older fat versions of the PS3 because of how they are finished. If you are going to paint it, get a slim. The paint will stick better. If you want LED's then you're going to need some soldering skills, and you will have to risk drilling holes in your case lol. It all depends on just how far you want to go. . . But if you want to do anything other than putting a skin on it, you will most likely have to void the warranty and open it up...

Hmmmmmm thanks a bunch. I ended up getting a custom skin from Unique Skins: Cell Phone Skins, Laptop Skins, IPod Skins, Gaming Skins, Mobile Phones Skins and already have the skins installed on it. And painted part of my DS3 sixaxis controller with red craft paint. Did that on my blueray remote for my ps3 as well. I was actually wondering how people got these mods that u see like u know it'll have all these amazing led displays and all was wondering if you could do that much from home wich from what you just said looks like I can if i wanted. thanks again for confirming this.

Yeah, just about everything can be done at home. There are actually some sites that will sell LED kits. The only thing about the PS3 LED's is there aren't very many on the system lol. It's easy to mod a 360 because once the case is off, all the led's are revealed and can be easily taken out and replaced. Plus the sides of the xbox are, for the most part, flat. So windows can be easily installed, and then LED tubes can be put in and plugged in through the fan. So no soldering needed. That's why there are so many 360 mods. PS3 led mods usually require drilling holes in the case, and that usually intimidates people. But if you wanna start LED modding then here is a good tut that shows how to mod a PS3 controller. I would suggest trying something small before jumping right into the console lol.
