How to mod the strength of guns in Borderlands

what about increase the effect of a weapon like fire,shock,etc changeing it from like 1xfire to 4xfire. Anyone?

Add this string into the acc area with Willowtree

gd_weap_sniper_rifle.acc.acc2_Maliwan_Volcano_Ince ndiary

That will add x4 fire damage to any weapon.

Just a little heads up, the barrel of the gun is what gives it special effects of unique guns . Try adding TK's wave barrel to a revolver.

A little oddity I've found; If you put the carnage shotgun barrel on a different gun, the gun will shoot rockets but they all do 0 damage. Which scuppered my plans for a game-breaking rocket SMG of death.

Actually, scratch that, I just managed to make a hilariously deadly rocket revolver. More testing underway.

you wont beat my rocket launcher that freezes the game. Wont go into detail but it was game breakingly over powered in more than one way XD.

Right, the carnage barrel refuses to work with the SMG and the repeater pistol (I'm guessing machine pistol will be the same deal). Revolver is all gravy though. Interesting.

Anyone give me some pointers on making some good sniper rifles?
Im using a PPz liquid orion which was doing me pretty good, lvl 22. I hexed the rarity from 2 to 3 and brought it lvl 31 or so.
Its value is around 20k and I found another orange rifle with a 90k value, but if I didnt know any better, the orion is still much better.

And what app would I use to dupe some items up? I used willowtree and hexworkshop in the meantime. id like to make 5 of the good weapons and adjust the powers from 1-5 so I have them in different brackets.

considering my game freezes at the getting save list screen, im guessing i ****ed it up. i tried to add multiple prefixes to my weapons through willowtree. exported the tree, added multiple prefixes, than i imported it and saved it. can you not do that? lol

That wont work. The game follows a syntax and if that syntax is broken then game crashes. Me and xander tried that a long time ago and crashed the game quite a few time.


I found an interesting little tid bit out. I made a gun have 15 item grades. It came out a little weaker due to the highest grade only getting up to 47 but it made it easier to find a a grade that was close to a specific level. Still doing some testing though.

Completely new to hex editing. KNow enough to change level, backpack space, and skill points. Beyond that, clueless. What is Willowtree and where do I find it? I did a google of Willowtree hex, willowtree program, etc etc and got nothing. Im just trying to figure out how to add that line of code that would give any weapon x4 incendiary. Thanks in advance

Don't see an edit button, weird.. Anyway I just want to make a souped up Shotty and COmbustion HellFire SMG. Nothing really fancy, just the best stuff possible, ie barrel5, scope 5, stock5 etc etc. I spent hours upon hours farming this game.. tried to dupe it all, and lost it.. so I've turned to this Found out I cant just edit the text from $gd_weap_patrol_smg.Sight.sight_none to $gd_weap_patrol_smg.Sight.sight5 because then it just freezes my xbox at the save screen.

Thanks much! Is it possible to add a Savior acc (smg ammo regen) to the Hellfire (x4 incendiary acc) without one replacing the other? Im gunna try it now but if I fail, Jus wanna know if if I failed cuz im a nub, or cuz it doesnt work.. thanks again!

Ignore all the above, I found out that the ammo regen is connected to the body of the SMG< not the acc.. so in short, it worked! Just made the most powerful SMG in the game, that atleast looks legit
