How to mod the strength of guns in Borderlands

do you mean the 9th byte to change the lvl or a pattern to also control rarity as well as lvl

Does anybody know how to make class mods better yet? I know this makes them Lv 48 and increases things like ammo regen, but what about making your skills stronger or adding an extra effect?

I planned on looking into those next. After i get enough research done an app shouldnt be too far off to make things a little easier on people.

I'm gonna throw a couple of things at you.

First thing: There's levels and therefore a "noob modder" would prolly be level 50. Lower level guns would have lower level effects. And usually PvP comes down to how well you've used your skill points. Yes, I know those can be modded, too. I guess that it really doesn't matter though. You don't buy Borderlands to PvP, you should buy it to play with your friends and have fun.

Second thing: I had fun playing through the story legit. I've beaten the game a few times. It's a great game and I don't think that us modders should stop you from getting it. The reason I mod is because it's fun. It's a challenge and I have fun doing it and trying to figure things out.

I guess that is all. I'm not flaming or anything. I'm just giving you my side of the story.

Wait, so these mods for Borderlands work for online multiplayer, yes? I don't have the game, but I might consider getting it if it has some good online mods.

First off someone on a modding forum complaining about modding... I never thought I would see that. Like Godslam said This game wasn't made for the sole purpose of PvP if you know anything about the game or have even researched it slightly you would know that the game was intended for FOUR PLAYER CO-OP you want to PvP go play Call of duty. If you want to have fun with friends and run around blowing people in to little bits and level up along the way and find some pretty sick guns then Borderlands is for you.

i just thought you all were modding multiplayer, cause my friend told me borderlands is a mmo-multiplayer fps. i guess he was wrong.

Modifying the components of the gun... This also can make the gun worse, so be careful.

Not much else you can do without increasing the level requirement, that's just how they programmed it.
