Anyone wanna research modding Oblivion?

As most of us know by now, a CON resigner has been released. With this we could resign any CON container. Anyone wanna research adding the PC mods into a copy CON container and seeing if we could possibly get any of them to load. Or any other way to do it.

Worth a shot. If it is possable we need to find a way to pack the other resources though.

edit: nvm, it cant be done because the dlc isnt a con, its a live and we dont have a live resigner.

the dlc is in LIVE files, so those cant be modded, although simple things in the game can be modded, although you NEED a flashed 360 as you will be modding the disc....

I might look into modding some beginning saves to give characters max stats and SUPER damage or something to play around on... although there are simple glitches in the game that can achieve immortal characters

I was actually thinking about modding a save to have max stats, money, etc. at the end of the sewers. I haven't gotten too far since I have been doing the same for other games. If anyone wants to make an Oblivion save, just PM me.

Since the 360 version is mainly a port of the PC version (all the file loading, and types are the same type and format), I would assume you could use the TES construction set to create new content for the 360 version. You could mod the core file on the 360 disk to add lets say a new ub3r p0w3rful ring and then with actual save modding, you could mod it to place that ring into your inventory.
However I would say most games aren't really worth CON modding, since most games, the CON files are just saves. The big thing with halo 3 was that since custom forge maps were saved, it meant people could mod that, but most other games don't have anything special stored in the CON file which makes it rather useless.

yea, I didnt compare any saves, or even use my own, but I grabbed one offline and looked at it...

I saw the inventory, character name, and character level....

I dont think you could mod with that tool though, as with that tool, it then adds the item to your directory I think, and isnt just arbitrary information

It might be possible however, to mod make modded items, then swap them out on the disc, then reburn, and then have modded items, although the save would only load with that disc

I tried comparing 2 files to see if I could pinpoint some of the stats, however the files just seem way to big and there are way to many differences between them even if you do very little between the change in stats.

Well i already made my own modded weapons via gamesave editing. Me and Fritzy are working on a save with powerfull stuff at the start of the game. Going to the testing halls really helps.... actually that could be a save itslef. It would allow people with only the console version to see the testing halls.

If you dont want to do too much work, you can just edit the .ini file. By editing the .ini file, you can accomplish a "No-Clipping mode". There are also some other minor tweaks you can do.
