anyone ever succesfully modded jsrf?

well its a good game, most people who purchased theyre xbox in 2002 know that it came with it. but has anyone actually modified it in any way? recently i tried mucking around with a few or the .dats and .bins found on the disk ( theyre pretty much the only 2 file types jsrf uses) and it was epic fail. the xbox cached it nd yeh.. massive panic. so if anyone has any advice or has done this before then leme know k?

i did a bit of research and found that each .bin and .dat file begins with "mult" in the first 8 bytes and then 2 bytes that varies from file to file. then 54 bytes made up of nulls (probably padding), 1 to 2 spaces and another varying byte. after that there's a 8 bytes that make up "norm" and after norm theres another 2 varying bytes. thats the only symetry ive been able to find in the files so far.

EDIT: as far as players go, the 2 bytes after mult have a value of 4 in the .bin file but a value of 10 in the .dat file. and the 2 bytes after mult in the .bin file have a value of 1 and in the .dat file have a value of 14.

DOUBLE EDIT: the sounds in .dat files ( not the adx ones) apear to have the sound effects nested inside them in wav format. this can be proved by opening one of the sound .dats with a hex or just a text editor. you'll find the phrase "wavefmt" and "Riff" repeated many times through the whole .dat file. these phrases are found at the start of wave sound files.

I remember jsrf. I used to play that all the time with my friends and stuff but I've never modded it.

mmk. well i guess the only mods for jsrf are sound mods. you could change the songs for instance (which i have done many times) , or change the sounds of the characters by extracting the wav chunks from a .dat file and putting in your own.
either way, its not really worth it.
