Open your network connections from the start menu. ![]() Find the local area connection for your network card (should be the first one) and double click it. ![]() Click on the support tab. This will tell you how your adapter's set up so far. If it looks like the picture, then it is configured wrong. ![]() If so, then click on the General tab, and click on properties. ![]() Select "Internet Protocol" from the list, and click properties. ![]() Now, configure the setting so that it looks like this: ![]() Now all you've got to do is set your xbox's connection type to DHCP, IP address to 192.168.10.101, and tell it to use a subnet mask of 255.255.255.0, and a gateway of 192.168.10.1. If this doesn't work, then you might want to try throwing your computer out the window.

Windoze doesn't detect weak signals for wired connections. I'd suggest trying a different area connection.

You can connect your xbox via a wireless connection, but you don't need a crossover cable. You would most likely need a router with a built-in wireless access point (connected via a standard patch cable), and a PC with a wireless card. Have the PC connect to the router, tell you xbox to use a DHCP connection, and everything should work just dandy.

You just need 2 sets of numbers to basically match between your computer and the xbox. 1st is your ip address that has to be the same on com. and xbox except for the last host octet. which is 192.168.1.? up to 254 for the last one. Just make the last one is different the xbox and the computer. Then 2nd thing to do is put both gateway's to the same ip address something like 192.168.1.1 And keep the subnet as 255.255.255.0 on both computer and xbox. Now the Ip address you used for the xbox is the one you use in the FTP Client. Bang you should be done.. Good Luck Oh, and to answer your problem with the internet using bridge feature on xp. Setup or intall another NIC which is not part of the bridge equation. connect it to your switch or router an voala! You will have internet again for about $10.00 Hey also pertaining to connecting the xbox ftping. The network card you configure, those setting I spoke of. That card will be connected by cable directly to your xbox. Last edited by groggycadman; 07-31-2006 at 11:15 PM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost
