Smash Bros. sells half a million on first day

The Japanese version of Super Smash Bros. Brawl sold half a million copies on its first day, according to magazine publisher Enterbrain.
So the Famitsu publisher is reporting, around 500,000 copies of the game sold on the first day – a staggering number by any stretch of the imagination.
We knew the latest instalment in the Smash Bros series was going to do well after huge crowds were reported to be queuing up for copies outside shops across Japan yesterday, but for it to be doing this well is nothing less than amazing. To put it in context, Brawl has already sold more than half of what Mario Galaxy has managed in Japan to date.

It should also put paid to any suggestions that the Wii fanbase (in Japan, anyway) consists solely of casual gamers who are interested in nothing more than the simplistic charms of Wii Fit, Wii Play and Wii Sports, and don’t care for Nintendo’s more traditional characters and franchises.
The only question that remains is when we’ll finally get to see it over here. Come on Nintendo, make the announcement!

I think that it is due for release in the upcoming weeks for america and europe, like next week or so but im not a big Wii fan myself.

Same. Less than a month away. Nintendo Power gave the game a perfect 10. The only other game to ever get that was Metroid Prime 3, which was epic as well.

I played MP3 like a week after it came out, and i have to say that it was never as good as the first two.
