I got mine in December 2006. and now its mid July 2007 and there is still no online games! It has the ability to download virtual console games, and browse the internet. but no online game play is to be found! is this an abnormally long wait for online gaming, or am i just impatient? If anyone knows any information please respond.  | ||||||

It's goal was to have a system anyone, no matter what age, could play, and to bring back all the old games people liked. I agree with you that online play should be a part of the Wii functionality, but Nintendo apparently has no plans thus far for online play. | ||||||

They have a few billion diamonds in the diamond exchange so they can keep demand and prices up. That is what Nintendo it doing too. I stood by the Wii part in walmart last night for 10 mins. And in that time 5 people walked by and said damn they are still sold out, when can I get mine. OH well I finally got mine.  | ||||||

They actually had three of them, I've never actually seen one for sale yet in the Chicago area. I was tempted to get one, but was curious about online play. Maybe I'm spoiled with my 360, but I can't imagine playing a game without being online and talking to my buds. As an adult gamer, most friends are not just a block or two away. Online gaming makes it possible to have fun with friends on a work night when traveling to each other's house is not an option. I'll probably break down and pick one up when Wii Fit comes out. That will probably get my fat *** to shed a few pounds. :laughing: | ||||||
