Hacking neighbors wireless router

sup guys?
i was just wondering if there is a way to bypass the password screen to use the router. i heard of a tool called airsnort but it dosent seem to work. Thnx in advance

I've heard of utilities that will intercept the signal and over time give you the password but I've never messed with one. I think this question would be more suitable for a hacking forum.

This is primarily a gaming forum.

I don't really know any good apps , but i know that on most (if not all) Linksys routers the default login is admin admin.

That's just to login to the router settings that you are connected to. He's talking about intercepting their code so he can logon to their wireless connection I believe.

Hacking wireless requires a lot of knowledge actuatlly, and I'm pretty sure running linux is required.

As I said though, if you don't know what you're doing and aren't running linux then it likely won't work.

There are plenty of programs to use on windows. You can use cain and abel, airsnort like you said above, or a few others. I am in school now for network testing and such. They are actually teaching me how to do this. It does take a little time though. But for the un-informed, I would go with Cain and Abel. You can even find videos on youtube on how to use it. Good luck.

Don't bother listening to TerminatioN... this kid is right. If you have a wireless card that supports monitoring mode, then you can hack wireless connections. If you don't, you really can't. It doesn't matter whether you do it in Linux via weird console commands or with a 3rd party program in Windows.

Hacking wireless connections is illegal. Honestly, would you log on a forum and ask for advice on murdering someone? Probably not... it's called etiquette.
