iBoy not wanting to work right

ok, i got iboy from forgoten dynasty's package of stuff. i can load the old_kern and the new_kern with no problem (through ipl) but when i try to load a rom it says something like "not enough mem." But after trying dozens of times to run pokemon, i finally got pokemon yellow to work once using the old_kern. i played it for 30 minutes and turned it off. since then, (and dozens more trys) i have only gotten pokemon silver to work using the new_kern. but with even the shortest tap possible, i would move all the way across the screen... lol. does anyone have any suggestions on getting iboy to work? or maybe a new version that works?

i have a 5.5g 30gig.

Im telling you just use rockbox to load the roms lol

lol. we figured this out together doof! haha. my rockbox doesnt load the roms. plus i figured out that it was MPD and everytime i loaded linux, it would run. but rarely it wouldnt. and that would be the only time it would work. so i just deleted it. haha.
