How to Jailbreak iPhone 1.1.3

Well just today a jailbreak for 1.1.3 has been released. This is just an easier version of their tutorial to help you guys jailbreak (hack) your iPhone's.

Step 1) You need to have a jailbroken 1.1.1 or 1.1.2 firmware. Search for my other tutorials in order to downgrade if you have 1.1.3

Step 2) Plug in your iPhone via USB to your computer

Step 3) Download this program called iBrickr

Step 4) iBrickr will determine what firmware you are running on your phone and make sure you can run the update.

Step 5) iBrickr will then guide you through the process of obtaining and modifying the 1.1.3 firmware (make sure to read everything thoroughly).

Step 6) iBrickr will upload the new firmware image to your phone. Note that this only puts the file on your phone and does not modify it at all, yet.

Step 7) When iBrickr finishes (should take about 10 minutes), it will tell you to go to Installer and install the "1.1.3 soft upgrade" package. Do that.

Step 8) When the installer finishes (this should take another 10-15 minutes), your phone should reboot with a fresh activated 1.1.3 firmware.

There you have it a jailbroken 1.1.3 iPhone. I have tested this and i will post pictures later if i can find my camera.

rofl no its an iPhone tutorial and i acidently put iTouch in title. i reported it for it to be changed but i guess no one has gotten around to it yet...

it doesnt work with iTouch as of yet.

edit - i thought it was for iTouch so i did everything in the tut and i thought the 1.1.3 update not showing up in the installer was a problem on my end lol. but then i looked around sumore turns out its iPhone only. so when i wrote it i thought it worked with both. sry guys

So this is for iphone only??? That sucks.... Acorn you need to use your 1337 haxx and do it for the touch your killen me here.

if you have 1.1.3, then just downgrade to 1.1.1, and then jailbreak. that's what i did

The iTouch Jailbreak will be released by the Dev team soon... just give it time i know i want it badly too =]

I tried this and it sent my phone in to recovery mode. Try at your own risk.

I'm a bit of a n00b with things like this so can someone help me?

- I have an iphone 1.1.3 which was updated via itunes.
- How could I downgrade to 1.1.1 or whatever is required
- If I did downgrade would I then just be able to follow the tutorial
- What are the benefits and risks of jailbreaking
- If it goes a bit pete tong could I recover my phone

Sorry for all the questions but I want to be safe if I was going to do something to my stupidly expensive phone. (Any help will be sure to get "thanks")

The benefits are being able to have custom backgrounds, icons and stuff. You can also have lots of cool games. A risk is that if your phone breaks, and you send it in to apple they wont fix it, because this voids your warranty. If you don't want a jaikbroken iphone you can just restore it to normal.
