| Error 6 while jailbreaking 2.0.1 I got an iTouch 2 days ago and bought the new firmware. Im trying to jailbreak it with WinPwn 2.0.0.4. I made the custom .ipsw file with the Cydia and Installer 2.0 boxes checked. I also added a custom boot image. I then proceeded to pwn itunes. It all worked but when i try to restore from my custom .ipsw it exracts and goes straight to a message box displaying an error 6. I tried this 3 times and same thing for each. I'm on Windows Vista Premium and im running WinPwn as administator. I know that the .ipsw file that im using is clean because i downloaded it straight from iTunes and i have already backed the Touch up with the same .ispw file and it worked. Am i doing anything wrong and if im not why isnt it working. Thanks. | ||||||

| Re: Error 6 while jailbreaking 2.0.1 When I jailbroke mine, I had the same error. It was caused by the fact that my itouch was in restore mode (not DFU). So you need to get it into DFU mode. To do this, hold both the home button and power button (press them the exact same time!) for 10 seconds, then release the home button. If successful, your itouch's screen should go all white (that's how you know it's in DFU). When it has, you are able to install the firmware without any problems. | ||||||

| Re: Error 6 while jailbreaking 2.0.1 Thank you for the help. I originally saw that and i tried it once without luck. Then i saw this other way with holding in the home while pluging it in and it seemed to work so much easier (I guess not.) Well thanks again for the help. | ||||||

| Re: Error 6 while jailbreaking 2.0.1 DFU is the problem. If your touch is in DFU mode, it's screen will turn all white. That's how you know it's in DFU mode. Most people have troubles getting it on the first few tries, such as it took me 8 tries to get it working. | ||||||
