| 7S Addict | iPod Troubles Alright, well I connected my iPod to my laptop and opened up iTunes. First thing that pops up is a message that a new iTunes is available, so I update it and then I get another message that my iPod classics' software can be updated as well. I noticed that it had downloaded the update or whatever but then my iPod screen went black. So, I disconnected my iPod and tried to turn it on, didn't work. Now I can't reset, turn it on or detect it on my iTunes.. I get this message when trying to detect it on my iTunes. ![]() What is wrong?? |

| Premium Member ![]() | seems like you unplugged your ipod before the firmware was done writing to the ipod, when the screen goes black you have to wait until it restarts after updating like that. Try forcing it into disk mode if that does not work you have to try and write new firmware to it, you can try IPW but idk if it can detect it when the firmware is corrupt. if that doesn't work then take it to an apple store or wherever you bought it and get it replaced. |

| 7S Addict | Did you try the disk mode? Or what about the diagnostics mode?(Center+Prev) if those don't work AT ALL then it may be a hardware malfunction. |

| 7S Enthusiast | well that happened to my brohter, it just wouldnt turn on though, it didnt have all those problems, so i just plugged it into my computer and charged it and then it turned out his charger was bad, so maybe try a different charger but im sure thats not your problem. Just trying to help, i would set up an appointment with an apple store and ask them to fix it. |
