Unanswered: Support Error - Need Help Quickly

I had my iPod working perfect. It is my life almost, whether it's sad or not.. I had 2000 songs ON my iPod without back up.

The error is as follows:

1.) The start-up Screen is perfect, the little apple.
2.) White screen with an error. (Little iPod with frowny face in it) Says go to apple.com/support/iPod
3.) Goes to a screen that says Please wait, Very Low battery (has a picture of a little battery)

I've used the hold button-Play/Menu technique and the other USB port technique, but it inst' coming back up.

Please, I need those songs even if it only works long enough to back up.

I looked around on Apple.com and this is what is says about the sad face:
In most cases, the sad iPod icon indicates a hardware issue. If you are able to force iPod into Disk Mode, then it may not be a hardware issue, and you should try to restore your iPod with the latest software. If that doesn't work what I would do would take it to the apple store and see if it is under warranty if not I would buy a new one because its around 150 for them to try and fix it and they can't always fix it.

As for the battery icon that is pretty obvious the battery is dead just leave it plugged in to a power source over night and you should be good to go in the morning.

Hope this helps.
