having problems transfering info from ipod to computer :/

kay so i
plugg the ipod in
i got to my computer i click file "removable disk"
and an error thing pops up and says this
"The disk in drive E is not formatted would you like to format it now?"

and i dont kno if i should click yes or no?

will clicking yes delete my ipods content?

and i need to get into that file to transfer the music to itunes

I had to format it. Then it erases all your music. The you just reload it with your music on your pc

Sounds like it got corrupted. If you are yanking out the usb cord w/o safely removing it that can happen after awhile. If you don't do that it should be fine. So yea go ahead and format it and you should be fine.
