help ipod doesnt........

i connect my ipod to the computer and i can find it on my computer or add songs to it. i havent changed anything and i was always able to do it before

ok well I need to know what kind of iPod you have, but I think I may know what this is...you probably have an outdated firmware and you disconnected your iPod from you're comp while it flashed "do not disconnect" anyway here's what you do

1. Restart your PC WITH THE IPOD PLUGGED IN

2. While your comp is at the "Windows XP" screen, you need to reboot your iPod (if you do this too early or too late it WONT WORK so make sure you get it right)

3. To reboot your iPod 3rdgen (press all 4 buttons) 4th gen/photo/everythin else (hold down MENU and the CENTER button at the same time until the screen goes blank and the apple logo appears)
