Angry Battery HELP!!

i got my uncle's old ipod classic and he said i can have it u just need to make it work. so b4 i put any money into it i want to know if i can fix it myself.

i keeps saying "please wait very low battery" now i have tried charging it for a pretty long time. does any 1 have any idea how i can fix that?

if not, do u think its worth bringing it into the store and paying someone to repair it??

Re: Battery HELP!!

Sounds like the battery isnt holding a charge anymore. If you google ipod replacements parts you can find a new battery for fairly cheap. I recently bought one for an Ipod Video 5th gen for about $10 with opening tools. If you're interested in trying to fix it yourself you can find some guides here: iPod Repair

Re: Battery HELP!!

can you use it when you eject it from itunes but leave it connected to the computer?

if not, it might not be as simple as replacing a battery.

Mizwax raises a good point here. Maybe it is all in the connection. Now if the battery life seemed to be getting shorter and shorter in the recent past than I would feel safe in saying it is the battery.

I agree with Mizwax though, try charging it with a different connection first. You just might save yourself some trouble.

Re: Battery HELP!!

in the start menu, right click My Computer and hit manage. then in the window that comes up, hit Services and Applications. then click services. click the Standard tab. and look for iPod Service. (or something to do with ipod) make sure its started. if its not, start it and then double click it and change it to automatic.

Re: Battery HELP!!

I have had a similiar problem awhile ago my ipod battery life was short and still is (i think) but I didnt use it for almost a year and it started working again but it would charge and I would leave it in for all night and it lost all the life in it. Some how now im lucky to have it workin somehow.... I think its the battery.
