Installing Rockbox And DOOM On your iPod

Requirements:
Patience
Your ipod
Itunes
a wire to connect your ipod to your computer
Software version 1.4.1
Your ipod formatted to FAT32. (mac users ill try to post a tutorial on that a little later)


I will make a video tutorial on it tomorrow if anyone wants to watch that instead...


Now before we begin, you must start by enabling your ipod for disk use. To do this, connect your ipod to your computer, and check off the box that says enable disk use. Once you check that MAKE SURE you hit apply on the bottom right cornner. Unfortunatly, i diddnt take a pic of tht part.




Step 1.
Go here, and download the correct build that matches your ipod. Ipods are at the bottom.

Once you downloaded the right build for your ipod, make a folder on you desktop called .rockbox and drag all the contents in the .zip folder you downloaded before into there.

Go to My Computer, and look for the name of your ipod.
Mine is named James Ipo


Next drag tthe .rockbox folder onto your your ipod. it should now look something like this. If you do not see the iPod_Control folder THAT IS OK. it just means you are not displaying hidden files on it. This will NOT effect you in any way when putting rockbox on your ipod.


Step 2
Make sure your ipod is connected!!
Now Download this file and run it.

You should now see something like this. if it is a little bit different and all the info there is different that is good. as long as it recognizes your ipod its ok


Now type in the letter i to install it and press enter.
Weight a second. once it says that it is done and to press enter to exit the ipodpatcher, just press enter.

Great so now you have rockbox on your ipod!
But then lets say one day your getting bored of all the 10+ games on your ipod. i think we should be able to play 1 more game


Installing Doom

Pretty much all you have to do is download and extract this and place it in the .rockbox folder.
