| S7 Legend ![]() | lmao wow ur itunes is messed up but i just suggest doing the ipod reformat just so that there is 100% enough room to put linux on because if your ipod has like 1 meg left on it and you try to install linux it will stop half way and totaly brick your ipod so try reinstalling itunes and then reformat ipod(make sure you have all your songs backed up and movies and stuff) then the installer should work and if it says missing back up then make a back up lol for me sumtimes if its giving me issues i start the back up then cancel it and keep going with tutorial but i dont suggest doing that and if what i just said screws up ur ipod tell me whats wrong ill try to help but your fault and holy crap this is a long post |

| 7S Enthusiast | My Ipod has over 1 GB left of room. Why do I need to reinstall itunes? It still works, and my Ipod is fine. |

| 7S Enthusiast | Im using a regular 2GB Ipod Nano. It has over 1GB left of room. Nothing is wrong with it, and I still have a long time before I have to replace the battery. Everytime I try to install Ipod Linux onto my Ipod it says it failed because I need a "Backup". Then it tries to restore my Ipod(when it doesnt need to), and says it failed to do that. I dont know what to do. |

| S7 Legend ![]() | gamebeatter sorry to break it to you but the new nano and all of the ipod videos(other then 5gig) have encrypted firmware so its going to take a while for ipodlinux.org to crack into it and make the linux installer work with them anyway plain and simple no if theres anything else ask away |

| Novice | Hey, Your instructions were perfect! I downloaded the Linux and it works fine but I can't seem to find the selection for File Browser? I have a 4Gen Ipod. I get the extras, settings & power? can you help? Sorry, I read more threads here and got a file browser mod on the ipod/linux but when I got to the file I can't open it and it has a "x" at the end of the selection so I can't go forward beyond it. Help again! Last edited by CRAZYLEEM; 04-04-2007 at 06:51 PM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost |
