How to Install Linux Step 1) Make sure you ipod is one of the supported Types. Step 2) Download the actual installer-Windows: RapidShare: 1-Click Webhosting Step 4) Alright unzip the installer and then open it. Step 5) You will get a page with the linux penguin on the left and text saying "Welcome to the IpodLinux installer". Step 6) Click next and it will say "i found a **Gb ipod at physical drive *. It seems to be a ***** Generation Ipod and does not have Linux installed." the rest is just saying its you fault if you break it and if you use it its not my fault its yours but if i can i will lend a helping hand ![]() Step 7) Click next and it will give you 3 options. Basically the three options are saying. 1) Holding rewind at start up boots Linux, touching nothing boots Apple OS. 2) Holding rewind at start up boots Apple OS, touching nothing boots Linux. 3) IpodLoader 2 basically it looks nicer but you will run into a lot more bugs. I personally from experience recommend number 1 but its you choice. Leave the bottom as it is with the checkable thing checked. Step 8) Click next and it will start to uninstall ***DURING THIS STEP DO NOT UNPLUG YOUR IPOD!*** If you get an error during the backup dont worry your not screwed but if you get one during the actuall loading of the files you might be:s Step 9) If all goes as planned which it will 99% of the time then you have now successfully installed Linux on your Ipod. Now here are the booting controls. If chose option 1 them During start up holding rewind will load Linux. To exit Linux in the main menu click power and quit Linux. To load Apple OS make sure you quit Linux before restarting and don't touch anything at start up. Menu+Select=Reboot Play+Select=Disk Mode after startup Rewind=Linux at startup. Now if you've messed up please post what happens when you turn you Ipod on and if you say nothing happens and it has full battery then your screwed. But say you don't know what to do at what ever step then post. Please Leave +Thanks and +Rep If You Used This Tutorial ![]()
