![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ALRIGHTY, To Start Things Off The Programs Used To Do This Are Not My Personal Programs So I Give Credits To Miche's Ipod Installer. This Tutorial Includes Installing Ipod Linux Onto A Nano And Playing Movies!!! Part 1: Installing Linux Step 1) Download Miche's Easy Installer Step 2) Plug In Your Ipod So It Goes Into Disk Mode, Run The Program And Click Next. Step 3) It Should Now Take You To A Similar Screen That Says Now Installing. Step 4) Next It Will Say Installation Complete. Step 5) Now Linux Is Successfully Installed On Your Ipod Nano 1st Generation. Part 2:Puting Working Movies On Your Ipod Nano. A Quick Note About The Movies. An Ipod Nano CAN NOT Read Regullar .avi Or Any Other Type Of Movie File It First Needs To Be Converted To Frames! A Movie Converter Is Provided By Joey C. So Credits To Him. ^_^ Step 1) Download MoPiD 1.5 Series Ipod Movie Converter. http://rapidshare.com/files/22490121/mopid.zip Step 2) Open It And Select "MoPiD.exe" Step 3) Click Okay In Top Left Corner. Step 4) Click Continue. Step 5) Click Okay And Select The Movie That You Want To Convert. Step 6) Click Okay And Select An Output Location For Your Movie. REMEMBER TO ADD .avi AT THE END OF YOUR NEW FILE NAME OR IT WILL NOT WORK Step 7) Chose Nano At The Bottom Of The List. Step 8) Chose the Frames Per Second (FPS) Of The Movie 15 Is Good 10 Should Be Your Minimum. Step 9) Click Okay And Yes Then Your File Will Start To Convert. It Will Say Skipping Frame Rapidly In The Dos Window That Is Okay Because Your Movie Was Probably 30 FPS. This Is Just Making It Less FPS. Step 10) YOUR MOVIE IS NOW CONVERTED. Now You Need To Copy Your New Movie File To Your Ipod. Open Up My Computer And Open The G:\ Drive Open The Notes Folder And Make A New Folder Inside It Called Movies. Then Copy Your Movie Inside That File. General Information To Boot Into Linux Hold Down Rewind When Starting The Ipod. To Exit Linux In The Root Menu Select Power And Chose Quit Linux. To Play Movies You Need To Use File Browser In Linux Select the Notes Folder Then Select The Movies File That You Created And Watch Your Movie. I Hope My Tutorial Helped Those Who Couldnt Get The Official Ipod Linux Installer To Work. And Remember If This Helped Theres A Thanks Button

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | A website that is focused on installing linux on ipods it is ipodlinux.org. They have an official installer that works with all ipods except for the new 2nd gen ipod nanos And version 1.3 of the old ipod nano or at least thats my experience. this installer was just an easy installer with the sole purpose to put linux on an ipod nano 1st gen. Now for movies have 2 folders on ur desktop one is where ur original movie is the other ur destination folder use the converter and select ur movie when it asks for output folder SELECT UR SECOND FOLDER(destination one) now u can name it the same as ur first movie BUT NO MATTER WHAT it has to end it .avi or its just useless information IF your still haveing issues with the converter go to MoPiD 1.5 Series Hope that helps Last edited by UnknowingAcorn; 02-03-2007 at 05:09 PM. | |||||||||
