Iphone update!

Well if you don't already know, I have been having an issue with my iphone. I was refused help because my screen has a small crack on it. As a result I sent apple this email.

Today I walked into the apple store for the first time. I had been given a new Iphone 3g as a present and recently it had begun acting weird. It would lock up for hours at a time 3 or 4 times day. The home button will not work, and at times it is impossible to turn it off. I walked into the store at 7pm after getting of work, right up the road at Monaco Pictures. I went to your "Genius" table and sat there until the next available agent was able to help me. I made eye contact and then he ran off. I sat at that table for 45 minutes! Yes 45 minutes until some one in an orange shirt came up to me and asked me if I needed help. I told them about the issue I was having, how I was weary about apple products to begin with, and this situation was begining to make me regret ending my verizon contract early. She then told me she would get some one to help me. 10 minutes later she came out and told me I would be given a "standby iphone" until I could come in tomorrow to get my phone checked out. She said it would take a couple of minutes and I told her it was ok I did not mind sitting longer. I never saw that woman again, besides one time when some one opened the big grey door and I saw her taking a snack break. I sat there for another 25 minutes until Mary Smith helped me. I would like to thank Mary very much for her help. She was the only one to acknowledge me and help me. She helped me set up a reservation for thursday, and helped me unlock my phone.

Aside from the extremely long wait and poor service I am wondering why I had to make a reservation for thursday but was told I could come in tomorrow and return the standby phone and get my phone looked at. I do not think that buying a $200 iphone I should have to reset it 4 times a day and restore it once a week to have it properly working. All I would like to do is have my phone looked at and see how I need to go about having it fixed. I hope this email helps improve the customer service you have at your great company. Bridge Street is a great place and it is a shame to see such poor service in an amazing store. Thank you very much for your time. Thank you Mary Smith for your GREAT service.
Well I got some good news today! A manager from apple called me and said, "Talk to me man, whats up with this crack in your phone?" So I told him the location and size of the crack. He then said "Come in and we will swap it out for ya."

So good news! I get a new iphone!!! Yay. I can't belive just by sending this email, and filling out a customer satisfaction report, they get ahold of me, and offer me a new phone. So think before you get an attitude, just email them and fill out a customer satisfaction report, an see if you get better luck. If you still dont have luck, then try yelling.

Everything was true, I did not lie about anything. I seriously sat there that long. I went in, just got back with my new iphone. The guy told me that who ever I talked to was wrong. They can accept iphe that have cracks as long as it isnt one of those spiderweb cracks. The big circle smashed glass kind. And he said that the hairline cracks in the plastic is a known problem and apple HAS to give you a new iphone if you have any of those on your iphone. I had about 8 so he was like.. omg here take it, your phone is a wreck lol

Good that you got a new iPhone. I've looked at the 3G's in the Apple Store the other day and most of them had numerous hairline cracks. They should had stuck with metal for the back casing instead of making it look fancy by using mediocre plastic to give it a ceramic look.

I love the look for the first gen iphones. From what I understand they went to the plastic because it gives better signal strength or some bs.
