Background: With iPhones new 2.0 firmware it’s easier then ever to install applications and use them for manipulation
Steps:
1) Under the app store there is a free AIM Application, just install this application and login to AIM. 2) From there you can create a buddy, as the screen name: just put the country code and phone number. United States country code is +1 so an example screen name would be +12223334444. You should be able to ‘IM’ that screenname 24/7 and it will send a text to the number and they can reply without your provider every knowing you sent a text!


Be aware that this will count against the individual you message if they do not have any kind of alotted (or unlimited) text messaging plan.

Until you can't use AIM on your iphone. they cannot charge for AIM messages

So do i but they charge you without you knowing for texting too much. They are at a loss when you text a lot so they add hidden fees to your bill

Okay, so let me get this straight:

When you send a text message through AIM to a cell phone, who is identified as the sender when the recipient receives the message? (Obviously, it would not be your cell phone number.)

Can your friends send you a text message directly, or do they have to wait for you to send them a text message through AIM and then reply to that? (If they send a text message to your phone, it would count as a real text message, not an instant message through AIM.)
