the original iphone took awhile to jailbreak if i remember correctly. and as vem said they might have put a ****load more of security on it or something.

Just a guess. I don't know how it is going to work because if you watched the keynote Apple is creating a push notification service which means that Apple will always have a connection to your phone. They might check in on your phone every once in a while to make sure you are legit.

well if you jailbreak... what can they do? they cant touch your contrat with cingular, the only thing would be voiding your warranty with apple..

yea buty what could they do if it was jailbroken... only thing i can think of is void warranty, they arnt gonna send a letter to confiscate it or anything...

Because they want people to play by the rules. If they didn't care they wouldn't break jailbreak everytime there is a firmware update.
