Plans for my 360.

Well, I'm tired of the console overheating 10 minutes after I turn it on. I've gone through intercoolers and basefans, hell, I've even set it up in the middle of the room and it still overheats. What I plan to do involves the Talismoon Whisper Max fan, the Talismoon air duct, and two LED case fans to slap on the side.

I've already opened my console, dismantled everything and am waiting on the things to arrive in the mail for the next few days.

There was so much dust in my console it pretty much suffocated the CPU heatsink so I guess that is what the problem was.

How do you guys think I should set up the air flow? In through the side and out the back?

Yeah, in through the sides, out through the back since you are allowing cool air in, and hot air out. That gives me Ideas actually haha,,I think I might do something along the lines.

if it overheating every 10 minutes you might wanna consider putting some new thermal paste on the gpu/cpu

Well, I don't think that is the problem. I use the 360 more than anyone on this forum, have often left it running for a month at a time. The insides were smothered with grey dust that pretty much insulated the heatsink.

It never hurts to do something extra................or don't add the paste and you might have to add it later in your xbox's life if it continues to happen.

Eh, I cant afford that, nor do I really need it. And I left the 360 on for so long because I used to play this MMORPG. I've stopped that and now I'm pretty good about shutting the console off.

Have you done the X-Clamp replacement yet? That, along with better cooling should fix your problem.

you might want to clean your room first to get rid of the dust

Buy a liquid cooling kit off of ebay, some people sell the koolance one for 175-200 rather then 350-400.

Sounds like alot but partner that with the wisper max + a cheap RROD fix and it shouldnt overheat for years.

I dont know whats involved with installing the koolance kit but im sure you have the tools or have a friend with the tools.

Stuff came in today.

Installed and my 360 is back in action.

Been running for a few minutes now but I can still feel a lot of heat coming out of the back of the console.
