| this tutorial is intended to teach you how to take a part your xbox 360 hdd and hook it up to your computer this is a very simple tutorial but you still need some computer knowledge inorder to complete it correctly i made it so xboxplayer could make an xsata TAKING APART YOUR XBOX 360 HDD WILL VOID ANY WARRENTY ON IT EVEN THOUGH I DONT EVEN THINK THEIR IS A WARRENTY ON IT ![]() things you need torx t6 and t10 --- sold at any hardware store or eletronic's store Xbox 360 HDD --- either came with your 360 or you bought it from a store SATA cable --- found at bestbuy and radio shack SATA power cable ---- i wasnt able to find one at any major store umm try online or your computer may have extra inside it like mine did A computer -- you will have to open it Xplorer360 --- if possible download the newest version Lets get started Your gonna need to unscrew all 4 of the outer screws on your hdd show in this picture ![]() then take it off and take these next 4 screws off ![]() then you will be able to unhook your hdd from the connector ![]() then slide your hdd out of its case plug in your sata cable in one of your computers hubs then plug the other side in your 360 hdd ![]() then plug your sata power cable in to your hdd and your computer ![]() then boot up your computer and open xplorer 360 ![]() then click drive then open the hardrive or memcard ![]() then your have just made a homemade xsata and edit or add or wht ever you want to your hdd ![]() written by butterscanfly if this helped leave thanks | ||||||

It just so happens that I was looking for this today. ![]() Edit: You know I was just thinking...I wonder how the 360 would react to another DVD drive being hooked into the HDD port... | No, you would need a chip to convert the sata signals to usb signals. This might work USB 2.0 to IDE/SATA Serial ATA Hard Drive Adapter Cable Kit | ||||||
