Sources of Power

I just thought it would be useful for modders to know where they can find power and grounds inside their Xbox360:

You can get 12v, 5v, 3.3v, and ground from underneath where the dvd power harness plugs in:

You can access 5v and grounds underneath the usb ports:

Grounds and a 5v "unswitched" point can be found by the power supply plug. This 5v is on anytime the 360 is plugged in, and is not switched by the 360 power.

I found some 3.3v "unswitched" power on the rf/power board and the points going to it. This power is on anytime the 360 has the power plugged in.

For all the people that don't want to solder, I found which wires you can connect to for power and ground. Just attach to the right wires, and use electrical tape to make sure nothing shorts.

Another item of interest, if you are installing and testing things, is that to boot a 360 you only need the motherboard, power/rf board, and the powersupply. It will boot with flashing red lights unless you plug in the video cable as well. You do not need the dvd drive or fans plugged in for it to boot properely, but I do not recommend running for more than a minute or two without fans.

Can you wirte a tut on how to hook the led fans up to a 12v ground because i want my box to run as cool as possible. I ready the tut on how to install then by matching the wires that was pretty good.
