hey punkskater,
first off, nice tut, i only have one question. instead of 30 gauge, i used 24 gauge because they were sold out at radioshack. i currently have the white wire going to the middle RT pin and the black going to the led. everything is fine except when i hold down the switch, it doesnt rapid fire, but when i release the switch, it rapid fires. its like everything is backwards. should i use one color wire instead of the two it came with, for example, for both wires use black or white? im thinking that might have something to do with it. thanks for the help.

the color of the wire you use doesnt matter. all that matters is where you solder to and the gauge is the same. which actually might not even matter. just check your solder points and the connections

The color of the wire, and gauge doesnt matter. I have had something like this happen to me a couple times. Try making sure your batteries are fully charged. I noticed when my batteries are low the rapid fire tends to be very weird.

Re: How to make a Rapid Fire Controller

Ok I have a few questions I bought a PICAXE USB Programming Cable, PICAXE 8 Pin Motor Driver Board so I can write code to the PICAXE 8 Pin Microcontroller. Now I like to know is what code would I write to this chip and how would I just solder the chip into the controller, I know I can install this chip with all the modes but I am just learning about it. Anyway I am very new to this and sorry if this is notin the right place.

Thanks Dss

Re: How to make a Rapid Fire Controller

i followed the tutorial to the word and i got everything hooked up correctly, but when I press the button, the gun only fires once then stops. I bought the exact button in the original post (this one here) is it because it is a momentary switch? do I need a new button or did i **** up somewhere?

Re: How to make a Rapid Fire Controller

I would have to have pic of your set up and see what all could be gonig wrong.

And also this may seem stupid, but you are supposed to hold your red button down to shoot. Just though I would throw thatout there.

i ****ed up on soldering it to the led cause it came off, but before it did I got the same results as I do it now, soldering it to the input for the play n charge so this is what I have now. Whenever I push the button it fires as though I am pressing the left trigger.

thats the button on the other side.

You HAVE to solder it to the led. If not it wont work. The play and charge kit wont work. It all has to do with the power, and the pulse that the power gives. This guide only works with wireless controllers! The only way to get power through the play n chare is when you plug the cord in thus making it wires, thus no longer wireless, thus no worko.

Seen it all over? Seriously!? There may be two tuts out there like this, but not a single one of them will show you how to do it this way, and have a step by step like this one does. All they have is one picture of a wire that goes to the board. You cant see where it does and they dont tell you how to wire it.
