IS there anyway to find out if your host INGAME?

Throw a grenade. Did you see it leave your hand? If yes, then yes you're connection host, If it just "Appeared" then you're not host.

Forge method:
1: Look at the ground
2: Press up on the D-Pad to change into monitor
3: Repeat step 2, but to turn into Spartan/Elite
4: If you're still looking at the ground, then you're connection host.

If you can kill the birds flying around on guradian or construct you are host

If you are dominating with the BR long distance and you usually don't - then your probably host. If you shoot somebody in the face with the sniper twice and their shields don't go down - probably not.

how to tell host on the pit

Ok there are about 6 cameras on the pit

1 in each mauler/shotgun room
2 in sword room
1 on each green box

If the cameras follow you then you have host.

easiest way to tell if you have host in game is to pick up a BR and hit RRY youll shoot once, switch weapons and shoot a br burst again from nowhere, then switch back to your br, if you're missing 3 bullets you dont have host, if you're missing 6 you do have host =]

Or if you have a Bridge set up just put your firewall on High and if the clock at the bottom right stops you don't have host. If the clock keeps going then you have host. You can do this if you have a lagswitch hooked up too.

I've also heard if your voice lags with your teammates at the beginning of the game, you have host bc everyone else is experiencing some form of packet loss or another.

It's possible that your voice would be lagging, but not necessarily true. It may not happen everytime or anytime you get host though.

The packet loss kinda makes sense if ppl have crappy DL speeds and shady internet. I've heard it mostly while playing in swat. It makes a lot of sense to me that the host would have voice issues with their teammates d/t packet loss.

Other than that the only other possible reason could be a DNS/router issue...and if that were the case I'd really hope Bungie would quit matching those people together
