| Junior Member | Re: The importance of look sensitivity Anyways, I use a 4 or 5 depending on my mood. Mostly 4. I'm about the same as Synikal, I used to use a 10 in halo 2 (and halo 3 beta), but now in halo 3 I use a slightly higher then default sensitivity. |

| Novice | Re: The importance of look sensitivity Dude there is ONE thing that your wrong about although i respected your post. You assume that the pro's are not at a professional level like "the pro's that ARE NOT recognized when in fact they are still good , they just LIE about it. Walshy likes to use high 7 or 8 from what i can tell and the rest typically use 9 or again 8. The slowest i have seen was cloud at 6 im guessing. One thing for sure is that they do NOT use freakin 5 or LOL.....3???? yeah right Has anyone even really watched the MLG videos? Watch the one with instinct vs believe the hype or whatever at meadowlands and watch the first game. Neighbor forgot to change his settings but its too late , he is on camera and has to play with 3. They hide that **** and tell people they play on freakin 3. When Instinct plays againts triggers down , oh wow all of the sudden , Neighbor is pointing his gun at the freaking sky pegging people and it only took him a split second. Lets say your on pit and a dude or girl gets the first shot on you from snipe 2 and your on courtyard , ITS IMPOSSIBLE to fight on 3 and if you use 3 or 5 then your not good ,period. Oh but the Godly pro's always say "yeah we use 3" and then they always stress how important it is to control higher ground. Okay then stay up there with 3 and ill be lookin right at ya. You need speed to Aim and have good callouts. They just wanna maintain the status quo , i mean if different people won championships then who the hell would give a **** , but they want you to think that you can be a freakin michel jordan. Dont get me wrong , i like Walshy , but T2 and other pro's hide ****. Anyway , im havin FUN LMFAO |

| Premium? ![]() | Re: The importance of look sensitivity I know this is old I believe and don't feel like explaining a hella lot.. If you wanna be "decent" at the game, you are defenently going to wanna be higher than a 3 sensitivity, just for the fact that you wanna be able to look around and not take forever to look, and also it would probably affect strafing some if it's slow. I myself am playing on 7 right now, just because I can move it a bit faster, and it's easier to strafe on to me, but you honestly going to wanna play what's comfortable. |

| Novice | Re: The importance of look sensitivity Well, I agree with everything said in the main post. All of his reasoning is correct, and he isn't forcing it on anyone. 10 sensitivity is the best, technically. Due to people's dedication and skill level in the game it may not, however, be the "best" for your conditions. If you aren't very dedicated and you are used to a different sensitivity, then you probably wont want to switch b/c it would take to much work and adjustment. Some player may not find themselves at a skill level where fractions of a second can mean the difference between winning or losing. I would say that this would really only be useful for those players at 45+ looking for an edge to reach 50 (like the difference between bumper jumper and default controls). I'm not saying a 50 is unobtainable without 10 sensitivity, its actually really easy, but it does make a difference. If you are dedicated to being a better player, then this is the way to go. Also, an elaboration on the way rotational movement works in the game. Your sensitivity doesn't directly determine your movement speed. It determines the maximum speed. If you set your maximum speed(sensitivity) to 5, but only move your control stick 2/10 of the way over, you are moving the same distance as if you had 1 sensitivity set and had pushed the stick all the way over. So ultimately the only thing that really chooses your amount of movement is the force you apply to the control stick. Many of you will provide ignorant rebuttals to this saying "That's Stupid", when actually it is a method of movement that allows the player to have complete control. You choose the force you apply, and therefore, can choose any spot within your range of movement to aim. Now it makes sense that the more areas you can aim within a fraction of a second, the more chances you have of defeating someone in a fight. This applys even to running away b/c you can "strongside" more quickly. So, since your sensitivity determines your range of movement, and the more range of movement the better chance of victory, 10 sensitivity is technically the "best". Some may argue that certain "pro's" play on different sensitivities then 10, so obviously 10 sensitivity is bull. Well, as several people have posted here, almost all pro's and exceptional players in halo 2 played on the 10 sensitivity setting. This is because it was much easier to adjust to this style of aiming with Halo 2 more compatible gameplay. However, with Halo 3's wider variety of weapon and vehicles, it is much more compatible to use a lower sensitivity. However, this difference in gameplay provides a level of gaming that can be reached by those who are dedicated to improving every little nuance of their playing style. this is partially the reason that so many new players are appearing on the pro circuit and are staying their because they are providing a more demonstrating more advanced and different qualities of gameplay that are unique to Halo 3. |

| 7S Enthusiast | Re: The importance of look sensitivity that's funny cause at MLG Dallas, i watched all the major pros adjust their settings before they played and almost EVERY one plays on 3, 4, or 5....I've seen it WITH MY OWN EYEBALLS and i know a few pros...your argument is based on speculation. My knowledge is based on facts. |

| 7S Enthusiast | Re: The importance of look sensitivity its kinda stupid to say a sensitivity will save your life. If you play on 3 you just dont put yourself in a situation that you'll have to turn around fast... simple as that. |

| 7S Enthusiast | Re: The importance of look sensitivity hmm, for that you use your left tumbstick in the direction you want, no? anyways, I respect your point of view, your right when saying that sensetivity 10 has all the others in it, wich is true. Anyways, I will try something not that drastic, probably I'll go for 7. But I like 4 ![]() dudes, the best portuguese team ( played in WCG against USA and only lost by 4, and they have won severall european prizes ) play, mostly, with 5. So don't be stupid using that "pros use 10" argument btw, I use the boxer layout. It's so good, cuz I use the "claw" technich ( hand/fingers movement ), and I saw some Pros using the "claw". But that's something I've always done. Boxer was very good in Halo2 for BXR and BXB |
