| Junior Member | Can anybody mod the Halo 3 Beta? Well, I haven't been keeping up with the recent mods so I have no idea how far people have come when modding the Xbox 360, but I was wondering if there was a way to mod the Halo 3 Beta. What I mean by this, is create a program, I guess similiar to the many programs made for the Original Xbox or computer and mod the Beta so that you can disable the need to connect to the internet. I have no idea what keeps the user from accessing the Beta now, but I am sure it has something to do with being able to connect to the network. My idea is to create some program to prevent the check, like many of the program cracks that exist nowadays. For example, I have a trial program on my computer that whenever you use it, it checks to see if you bought the program. If not, you get access to a limited part of the program. With a program crack, the check is disabled, thus allowing you to use the whole program. I was wondering if someone can make a program like this for the Halo 3 Beta. Because I'm not much of a modder, I have no idea what we can do and what we can't do. But another idea is to create a false program that acts like the network that the Beta needs to reach. Thus, whenever the Beta connects to the false Bungie network, it'll allow the user to play. Well, these are just some ideas. It probably won't work, but oh well, worth a try. And on the bright side, if we can't figure out how to crack the Beta, the game release date is only 2 months away. |

I'm not trying to sound mean or anything, but we would have to have everything and every program that Bungie needs in order to make a tunneling program for the computer that allows us to bypass the enfinite amounts of netword checks that go on in order to make the game work. If you ever notived in the near-bottom-right part of the screen with the two combonations of numbers and letters, that is the game sending and recieving packets of info thru the internet. Frankly, it would take a long time to do all that and by that time, we will all be playing Halo 3 anyway, but on the Xbox 1080 that we just got backwards compatibility for a few weeks after launch. LOL. In other words, it would be near impossible with such limited resources and the inability to just mod and resign the game to let us play without live. Also, we would need Crackdown to do this and if you go into your local EB Gamestop, you'll se a whole wall devoted to the crappy game. SO... MANY... TRADE INS!!! Hope I helped answer your question. |

| Junior Member | Right, but they did only do that to send info back and forth. |
