but anyway, hexing my way through halo 3 mainmenu.map, finding some interesting stuff....some posted below:

firstly in the confusing bit:

Few things here, ~MAP EDITOR~ please tell me it says that!, notice the party status bits, one called friends only, maybee we can set so ONLY friends can join... and lastly the telefraged bit....hold on...didnt they "get rid" of teleporters and replace them as said in the vid-docs?

Wow, the old and NEW medals, i didnt copy n paste the bit after, its hige but basically it says and explains what each medal means when you select it.
oh yea, reading the zombie one...the medal reads "Kill 5 humans in a row as the zombie without dying"
and more...does this mean...our "zombies" is now a custom

much better intro testing, halo 1 was like "cheif look up so i can shave ur chin"
NO GUARENTEE about there been a clasical intro where you test shields etc, but the hex has speech from them, so im guessing...

Sixteenth:

Hold ... to drive Brute Chopper.Press ... to flip Brute Chopper.Hold ... to board enemy Chopper.

is it me or is chopper slang for helicopter...lol doubt it, but hey, if it is...w00t, afterall there is a aircraft medal of some kind.

then you have the grav lift, bubble shield but everyone knows about them now...

no idea but its from mainmenu.map, all the info comes from there, some did say NOT AVAILABLE IN BETA TRAIL, but none of that above...maybee thats incl. but you know...we cant find it.

The first part sounds like it could be the default names. Like if you join system link game with the same name as someone else it changes it to one of those names (like it did in Halo 2).

SORRY FOR THE DOUBLE BUT...

i know what my first section is, its called a temp. profile, it randomly generates one of these and you get the name (im tryin to find ways around the beta and found tht)

im onto the local games (which says is nto available in beta)

and i also found text in hex saying "customs are disabled in theis beta"

so that means you can get to the customs, just it blocks you, im shure we can get round it!

I wouldn't call this research since all you did was search for text strings, but...
I can tell you what like all of those are haha.
And they were found long ago, thats just random hexing, if you want to find it legit, its in a number of things, like tags such as matg, the unicode and string table, and things along those lines.
