Possibility to keep halo 3 beta Longer??

Well I was just wondering, is it possible we can Somehow get a hold of the .maps and all that other ****, and Moddify it to play as a Halo 2 map, or just make an entirely new DVD+R and play with friends on xbl or lan and whatnot. Im not going to pretend like i know what im talking about, im just curious to see if anybody is that ****ing smart to pull it off. If so, YOU ARE A ****ING GOD!!!!

You need the disk to download the beta...so, technically, the beta is saved to your HDD. If someone were smart enough, they could connect to their 360 via FTP, and perhaps grab the maps off of the HDD. Hard things, though, you would have to find them, and then you would have to know how to get them to work--Im not sure how it'll work because its not out yet, but you may have to make the whole Crackdown game again. That would suck.

Uhhhh sorry to burst everyones bubble but:

a) the maps are not on the crackdown disk, it just lets you download them from XBL Marketplace.

b) sure you might be able to get the maps off the 360 and onto your comp but chances are there will be a file that checks the maps to see if they've been altered.

c) I'm almost certain that once you download the maps a countdown will start that's embedded in the game and you will have one hell if a hard to time change it. (ie very good hacker).

2) jay is right, its all on crackdown and ud have to be a good hacker
3) just give up bud, it aint gonna happen where u will get to see it unless u get premium.

To find the Halo 3 maps on your harddrive quicker, you could always FTP your 360 before hand, then screen capture (take picture) of each folder. You could then see which folder/ files got downloaded because there would be new ones. Just go back and compare. Fairly simple, just slightly time consuming.

Psht... like the Halo 2 game engine could even handle an H3 map, the only possibility there is to use an H3 map bsp in H2, but that's far far away.
Also, the new map encryptions will probably be insane. There are H3 maps out there, I know 2 people that have the beta =x. But Bungie will absolutely sue the sh*tout of anyone who leaks it, just like the H2 beta leak incident.

Well, you wouldnt need to...the game has a start menu, right? The game has postgame lobbies, right? (Jebus I hope so...It would be a bad game w/o it..lol) Wellllll....Like I said, if you downloaded it off of XBL Marketplace, its all saved on your HDD or your Crackdown disk (I mean maybe the menu, of course). So, you could take all the Halo 3 stuff on Crackdown and your 360's HDD, and make a new disc out of it. You couldn't play on Live, though, because then people would go "How do you still have the Beta" and youd get caught awfully fast.

the beta can be run off the harddrive ONLY, the executable will have to be altered to have the files played from a disc. The Xbox 360 WILL NOT boot a game that has a modifyed executable file. The beta is 20 days long, thats a gods plenty of time. Get over it people.

whell the beta is only matchmaking so in order to play it it would have to be linked up threw xbox live so burning the maps onto a disk would work untill they took the servers down that hold the beta togeather
yes their are servers halo 2 has them to they just dont use in the games

Incorrect. Crackdown allows you to connect to a server in which you can download it from. Also you wouldn't crack it, and I wouldn't help crack it because its illegal. But the x360 executable file checks online dates whenever it can and your 360 date, along with how long its been on your xbox. I don't see this happening. And I also don't see much discussion here anymore. It should be locked.

Detox, we could get of drive aod put on Aomp so timer doesnt go down and then re FTP/burn on disk and run on another 360 with Linux and timers at when you DLed, use the splitscreen feature(1v1 and none live, bungie.net even said it was)
