you need the disc to launch the beta. The actual beta is on the harddrive.

No we can't it needs to be launched via code or Crackdown. And each one, if modified in the smallest bit, the filehash changes. Once the hash changes, and the 360 checksums it to a failure, it will not load.

To the guy above me, there was a Halo 2 beta. It can be found nowhere, and the only people that have it, 2 people will guarenteed not give it to you, and guarenteed you won't find out who they are.

DeTox at xbox scene if you have linux running on your box(me) theres a code to over ride checksums, and so if you got linux on 360 you have a small chance itll still work

its on disk, but dont work, it reads, loads, then says disk is dirty, thats probs fixable

Well you can mod Halo 3, but you'll get banned from XBL, you can burn it to a disc, but you need to be signed into the GamerTag that received the beta code. ;x.

I've been reading this thread and it got me thinking. To prolong it with the people who have crackdown, since it will only let you start it up through the mainmenu, could you possibly put the beta and crackdown on one disc, and then play it. (To solve the problem about the beta being on the hardrive, do you think there is a way maybe to rewrite the xex to have the download point to the dvd instead of the hardrive). Then you might be able to play it over xlink kai or xbox connect. Its just a theory but It probably won't work.

ive played every halo beta, 1 , 2, & 3. The thing that pisses me off is i only got to play the first two for maby a day or two, and now that halo 3 is out I cant even play it cause im always at work "Clear Channel Communication's" and as soon as i get home my damn room-mates are always playing GOW. So PLEASE someone figure this out so people like myself can just sit down and relax when summerTime comes around. I will do whatever is necissary to help, Il even donate a **** load of $$$. Besides if you guys at Se7ensins cant figure it out, there is no hope for anyother ****ty wana Be websites.

Well you can just get rid of the updater i guess (im just throwing things out there so dont get mad at me if im wrong) but maybe it will work because for them to alter your system at all it has to be threw update the trick is signing on and getting all the way into the beta without sumtin happening.....
