so if we manage to crack ONE key out of an infinite possible then we will magically have all the others?

Re: Bungie should lower .map Encryption?

Bungie used 2048 RSA because it has never been cracked before, ever. So don't think that a few people wanting to mod a video game with the same level of security as a website like Paypal are going to get it done. Bungie knows what their doing.

Supposedly there are alot newer and more effective forms of encryption available.
One of them being "BloFish" ( Correct way of spelling? )

And why would Bungie make things easier for us.
Would that not devoid the whole point of it being there in the first place?
And why.

How would this be a positive thing for Bungie themselves...

EDIT: Oh, and we are not going to crack RSA 2048.

First of all, it's pronounced "BlowFish" which is a symmetric key cipher encryption. Still weak and susceptible to our attacks (aka we find the key, and we're set).
RSA is still the best asymmetric key encryption method out there. It's security is the best due to the simple fact that the ability to factor large numbers is very slow, and the idea that no new algorithm exists for calculating the totient.

thats contradictory then, if no one is there to crack it cause theyre dead then they havent cracked it, its in our lifetime too, i dont see why people are so upsided about "itll be bruteforced in 100000 years," well cool, too bad you be long effing dead and its not going to get cracked in the next 100000 years if no ones even started it so even now, we cant even say it will be cracked in the next 1000000 years because in order for that to be true we would have to have someone to start doing it now... i havent heard anyone say they are doing it and for the kernel look at the link in my sig

Hooray DJ Sheperd Strikes again!
Let's not try or even think cause itt'll never happen, anything anyone tries autommattically never happen, Nice! Grow some- self esteem, i know RSA wont probably be cracked, but you are so EXTREMELY NEGATIVE --- And almost everypost ive ever seen on this website all youve ever done is negative, theres at least 2 negative posts from you in all my "n00bi5h" topics...
Plz Explain, honestly i think your gay!

if i get banned, look at my stats i dont really car, i love and support s7 but halo 3 modding becoming, epic phail, especcially cause know one aprreciates any one except DeToX, which i support, but anyways, someone makes another frigate sandtrap and everyone cusses and yells at them saying 10000000 of them have been made already....
SO WHAT?
Igaurantee you guys all made 1 at some time.
Well staff need to clean up peoples act, KEEP IT C7EAN!

Like Ven said if we crack one encryption why would all the others get cracked too? Thats like saying you goto the white house and find the key under a rock so you get to open any door you want in the world (except the key is only an inch big and hidden any where in the world)?

Re: Bungie should lower .map Encryption?

why would bungie in the first place lower .map encryption when if they did it would be halo 2 all over again and people would stop playing this game

It wouldn't be anything like halo 2 because they have protection set in place for MM like halo 2 is now, you would get booted in like 10 seconds.

Wow that really would be funny though all the disappointment and shame as bungie drops the incripion on the next map release and so called released a .map resigner and then everyone rushes to mod MM and the get auto banned. Come on bungie wait till april fools next year, that would be classic.
