| Modding Beast ![]() | Custom .map files Why isn't it possible to just link a usermap to a custom .map file that does not have anything preventing it from working like an RSA Key? |

| Modding Beast ![]() | Re: Custom .map files i'm just wondering if you can rebuild a map that the xbox doesn't need to recognize with a key. basically take the key stuff out but make it still work. Last edited by Halodu2de; 09-10-2008 at 05:30 PM. |

| Member | Re: Custom .map files it would still check if it were signed, and you could only use the same keypair because the xex checks it with bungie's pair so therefore none other will work. |

| 7S Enthusiast | Re: Custom .map files ok, this all makes sense, but what if you play offline. the xex cant check it against bungies servers for the correct encryption. but im guessing there is a work around in place. does it even need to be checked? because i believe the maps are only resigned when you play online or in match making right? and offline what does it check for? i think the hypervisor would take care of this. right? thanks |
