Double Modding

When I mod a map once, then do something and try and mod it again, it doesnt seem to resign or rehash properly (not sure which) and also the rehasher I use, shade49's (or whatever it is) doesnt want to rehash my 175kb files
Also when I mod a map such as valhalla, and add large pine trees to it, it deletes all the trees when i save it again, such as after adding respawn points, is there any way to stop this from happening?

Re: Double Modding

if your trying to mod a map then try to alter it, you might want to try creating a duplicate of the original unmodded map. That way when you mod the map and you want to change something you still have the unmodded map that you can perfect then mod to your liking. It's difficult to explain. If your trying to mod an already modded map I was under the impression that was currently impossible. But I might be wrong.

Re: Double Modding

you cannot forge an already modded map and keep all the mods on it...

Re: Double Modding

You could use Forge and pan cam to add the placement blocks and keep all your mods intact.... but that seems a but out of your scope.

Re: Double Modding

There is a film that activates it or you can do a button combo, Eazy is the film still on your fileshare?

The film that activates it will only activate it for that specific film. E.g if you play that film then another one, Pan-cam will become disabled again.

The button combo only orks in local games, and must be watching campaign or custom game film (no forge ). Straight from wikipedia:

Quote:
This can be tricky, but you must hold these buttons one after the other in this exact order: LB + RB + LS + A + UP [D-PAD] to toggle Show Coordinates/Camera Mode. A bunch of strange numbers should come up on your screen. This is normal. You have turned coordinates on. The first three numbers (or values) are the position of the camera along the three axis, the next set of values is where the camera is facing, and the last value (next to where is says [Pan Cam])is the speed at which the camera will move when you move it.

You must press this order of buttons to turn on Pan Cam: [HOLD LS + RS] then tap Left on the D-Pad to toggle Pan-Cam/Normal modes. These change the controls for the theater viewing. In this case, we want Pan-Cam mode. Do this while Show Coordinates is enabled. It should say Pan-Cam after all the numbers.
And don't forget:

Quote:
Pressing up on the D-Pad makes you go faster, and down on the D-Pad makes you go slower.

It's not that it often fails, it's just that people tend to mod the wrong sandbox.map (is that what it's called? ), since there are 2 (the top one is a backup of the previous save in case of errors while saving the new one). So if you do end up modding a 176KB usermap, make sure you are modding the second sandbox.map
